‘Riverdale’ Star KJ Apa On Mixing His Girlfriend’s Breast Milk With His Coffee: ‘I Love It’
The teen drama TV series, Riverdale, has been a fan-favorite since its inception in 2017. While several of the original actors on the hit CW series based on the ever-loved Archie Comics have left to pursue other avenues, the main four remain as work begins on season six. The one who made his splash in Hollywood as the lead character of the show is KJ Apa.
While acting has been Apa’s second passion, right behind playing guitar, we suspect we will see a new passion take the number one spot in the young actor’s life. Apa and his girlfriend, 27-year-old French model Clara Berry, recently celebrated the birth of their son in September. Becoming parents has resulted in new discoveries for the couple, including a coffee mix-in that may surprise you. The Riverdale star said he loves mixing his girlfriend’s breast milk with his coffee.
KJ Apa is the star of ‘Riverdale’
Keneti James Fitzgerald Apa, best known as KJ by fans and critics, started acting at 16 in a New Zealand soap opera. His natural acting ability quickly grabbed attention from around the world, and in 2016 he received an opportunity from Hollywood that all actors aspire for in their career. Apa landed the leading role on the hit CW series Riverdale, which resulted in multiple other film opportunities. However, playing Archie Andrews on Riverdale is by far Apa’s most notable role.
Finishing up its fifth season earlier this fall, there is no doubt that fans love Riverdale and Apa’s acting. Portraying the lead on the hit teen drama has been rewarding for Apa’s Hollywood career, but he previously opened up about sometimes feeling like he’s in jail playing Archie. If having a busy acting career and dealing with the pressure of playing a popular comic character isn’t enough, the star added more to his plate when Apa’s and Berry’s first baby was born.
KJ Apa’s fatherhood dream just came true
According to a recent Insider article, fatherhood was a wish for Apa. When speaking about his wish to become a parent he said, “I’ve never been so sure of anything in my life, other than the fact that I want to be a father, I’d be willing to drop acting and all of this if I had a beautiful family. If I had to do it, I would do it.” However, fans didn’t think the statement was foreshadowing something to come so soon but are thrilled for the new parents.
Fans first noticed Apa and Berry becoming closer in late 2019, and in early 2020 the two made were publicly linked. The couple kept their involvement rather low year for the past year and a half. To many fans’ surprise and delight, Apa and Berry announced on Instagram that they were expecting in May 2021. Everyone anxiously awaited as the two did not release many further details until their birth announcement post. On September 23, 2021 Apa and Berry had their first child together, a son named Sasha Vai Keneti Apa.
Fans confused by Apa’s new coffee mix-in
While the birth of their son grabbed everyone’s attention, fans were shocked when the Riverdale star posted a video at the end of October of him unscrewing a baby bottle filled with milk and pouring some into his cup of coffee before drinking it. His Instagram video caption, “My wife is a milk machine and I love it.” and Berry’s comment “Happy to feed my family.” added to the confusion since the couple has not yet tied the knot.
