Season 19 of Sister Wives will premiere next month. While there has been much chatter about what season 19 will cover, some fans were hoping the end of Kody Brown’s plural marriages would have made him a bit introspective and more mellow. A trailer released by TLC on Aug. 13 suggests the opposite has happened. Kody Brown seems determined to cement himself as the series’ villain once and for all.

Kody Brown proves he is the true villain of TLC in a new promo

Brown family patriarch, Kody Brown, has said and done a lot of awful things. Sister Wives has documented his descent as his marriages fell apart. Still, the reality TV personality appears to have crossed a brand new line in the season 19 promo.

In the trailer, Kody tells the camera that the women in his life should blame themselves if he doesn’t “love” them. While the trailer is spliced together, making it impossible to tell exactly who his words were aimed at, long-time viewers largely believe he is likely referring to Meri Brown.

While fans have often criticized Meri for her own actions, they have grown increasingly tired of Kody emotionally abusing and gaslighting his former first wife. The Sister Wives season 19 trailer, and his confessional scene in particular, suggests he’ll be cementing his spot as the series’ true villain.

‘Sister Wives’ fans react to the season 19 trailer

Following the trailer’s release, fans took to social media to highlight the tense promo’s most disturbing moments. Most fans agree that Kody’s volatile outburst was the worst part. Several Reddit users noted it was among the most troubling statements Kody has ever made, and he’s made some incredibly mean-spirited comments in the past.

While we don’t know exactly what storylines will play out on season 19 of Sister Wives, we know that three of Kody’s wives have rid themselves of his influence. They all seem better off because of that decision.

Christine Brown is married to David Woolley and lives in Utah. She is seemingly deliriously happy in her monogamous union. Meri Brown also lives in Utah, several hours from where Christine settled. While she doesn’t currently have a romantic partner, she has a solid group of friends and plenty of community support. Janelle Brown has reportedly moved from Arizona to North Carolina, although she has not publicly announced the move.

Kody and Robyn remain in Flagstaff, Arizona. While they are rarely spotted out and about, the duo still seems to be together. Robyn Brown is still heavily disliked by fans, and it doesn’t seem likely that she’ll redeem herself in season 19 of Sister Wives based on the trailer. Still, it looks like Kody Brown is poised to be the season’s official villain.
