Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick dated for 9 years, but never got engaged
Scott Disick met Kourtney in 2006, just as the Kardashian-Jenner clan rose to fame. By the time Keeping Up With the Kardashians aired in 2007, the two had already begun dating. Scott practically became a member of the family over the next few years and frequently appeared on the reality show.
In 2009, Kourtney and Scott welcomed their first child together, Mason. Then, Kourtney gave birth to their daughter Penelope in 2012, followed by son Reign in 2014.
The couple spent nearly a decade together but never became engaged. By 2015, reports circulated that Kourtney and Scott led different lifestyles, and Kourtney disagreed with Scott’s partying. They ended their relationship but have remained friends and co-parents to this day.
It’s unclear if Kourtney and Scott would have someday tied the knot if they stayed together. In a 2012 interview with Oprah Winfrey, the Poosh founder revealed that mom Kris Jenner’s divorce from Robert Kardashian, Sr., left her unsure about marriage altogether.
“I’m kind of scared of marriage because of that,” Kourtney said, as Us Weekly reported.
However, Kourtney also said that the marriage label didn’t really matter to her.
“I’d like to someday [marry] for my children, but I know that I’m just as committed as if I was married or not married,” she added.
Even years later, in 2020, the reality star’s views on marriage remained the same. Kourtney revealed on E!’s In The Room that she didn’t feel like marriage was “missing” from her life.
“I feel like I’m really content, but I think if it was the right situation, I think it’s something that I would want,” she said.
She had a few other relationships before Travis Barker
After Scott, Kourtney linked with a few other people, but none of the relationships seemed close to marriage. She met model Younes Bendjima in 2016, and the two dated off-and-on until 2018. Reports surfaced that the two experienced various issues, including his infidelity. He also made negative comments on some of her Instagram posts, disapproving of her showing off her body, which may have strained the relationship.
After Younes, Kourtney began a brief relationship with actor Luka Sabbat in September 2018. They were spotted out together a few times but seemed to fizzle out by April 2019.
Kourtney and Travis took their relationship public in February 2021. The two quickly seemed head over heels for each other, with constant PDA and loving Instagram posts. Kourtney has already blended her family with Travis and his two kids, Alabama and Landon.

Kourtney shared the news of her engagement on Oct. 17. According to an inside report from E! News, Travis took her to the Rosewood Miramar hotel in Montecito, where they’ve spent many weekends away. He proposed to her on the beach, in the center of a heart made of rose bouquets and white candles. After the proposal, the couple met up withKourtney’ss family, who watched from a distance and celebrated the milestone.
“It was super emotional and sentimental. Kourtney was so happy and was definitely emotional,” a source told the publication. “She teared up andcouldn’tt stop saying, ‘I love you.'”
