Kourtney Kardashian Has Officially Retired From ‘KUWTK’ but Says She’ll Return to Filming After Making Some “Big Changes”
Months after revealing her plans to take a step back from Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kourtney Kardashian has officially retired from her family’s show.
During a new KUWTK episode, the oldest Kardashian sister announced that she is leaving the reality series after finding herself in an intense fight with sisters Khloé Kardashian and Kim Kardashian West.
Though she’s taking a much-needed break away from the drama, the Poosh founder revealed that she plans on returning to the show — but only for moments she deems worthy of her presence.
Kardashian reached her breaking point on ‘KUWTK’
Kourtney Kardashian has officially said goodbye to her regular role on Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
On the all-new episode of the hit E! series, the mom of three revealed her decision to leave the show after opening up about her struggles with sisters Kim and Khloé Kardashian.
During the episode, the Poosh founder admitted that had reached her breaking point and was officially done with drama, especially after getting into a physical altercation with Kardashian West that shocked fans and the Kardashian-Jenner clan.
“I’m definitely disappointed in myself. I don’t think that my response was matching up with what her exact comment was,” Kourtney said of the fight. “Being violent isn’t the answer, but it was just the build up of years and months and everything.”
After taking a much-needed break from each other, the sisters came together to have a heart-to-heart conversation, where Kourt revealed her ongoing struggles — not only with her siblings but also with living in the public eye.
“I feel like I’m on this hamster wheel, and it’s just not something I can continue to do,” the mom of three said. “I think some big changes need to happen.”
After the sisters talked through their issues with one another — while BFFs Malika and Khadijah Haqq mediated the conversation — the Poosh founder revealed her decision to leave the show.
“I’ve decided to take a big step back from filming and really just pick and choose what I will allow cameras to follow,” she explained. “I think just now when I have something that I find is interesting to film, or that I would feel excited to film, that I do that.”
Kardashian admits that filming doesn’t make her happy
Though the oldest Kardashian sibling has talked about leaving her family’s show many times in the past, it was only a matter of time before she finally decided to do so.
In recent months, her feud with sisters Kim and Khloé has intensified, and Kardashian admitted during the latest KUWTK episode that the drama has just become too much for her to handle.
“I just feel like every day, it’s like they just pick on me and I just can’t do it anymore,” a tearful Kourt expressed to the Haqq sisters. “I feel like I’m almost more mad at Khloé than Kim, ’cause I expect it from Kim. But, like, Khloe just takes everyone’s side, always, except for me—when I’m not even asking her opinion.”
While there’s no telling how often the mom of three will appear on the show moving forward, it seems like her taking a step back from KUWTK may be in the best interests of everyone.
With Kourt taking a step back from filming, she’ll be able to spend a lot more quality time with her kids and travel the world like she’s always wanted to do.
Also, her relationship with her sisters could improve tremendously now that they won’t be around each other all hours of the day.
Prioritizing her life and family over KUWTK is something Kardashian’s always wanted, and now that she’s made this big-shift, she can finally start living the life she’s always longed for.
