Kourtney Kardashian Learned This Important Life Lesson From Mom Kris Jenner
Kourtney Kardashian credits her mom, Kris Jenner, with teaching her a very important life lesson. Jenner, the world’s most famous momager, knows a thing or two about how to conduct business, but it turns out she knows how to balance the hard work with fun, too.
Kardashian shared how her mom has perfected this balance
In an interview for the July-August issue of Vogue Arabia, Kardashian explained that she learned the value of work/personal life balance from the best — her mom.
Jenner has a strong work ethic, but she knows how important it is to have both the professional drive and a personal life.
“My mom is such a great example,” Kardashian explained in the interview. “She gets up super early in the day, she works hard, and then when she is having fun, she has the most fun out of any of us because she is so in the moment.”
Kourtney and Khloé are the life of any party
Kardashian shared how she values being present in a moment and not so hung up on being on her phone, unlike her younger sisters.
“Khloé and I, we say when we go to our younger sisters’ parties, we’re the most fun out of anybody,” she explained. “It’s so true because I think we’re more used to not living on our phones.”
She carries that into spending quality time with her kids as well. “I always try my absolute best when I’m with my kids not to be on my phone, to be present in what we’re doing, and have those moments where you’re looking in each other’s eyes and connecting. It’s so important,” Kardashian noted.
Kardashian got some solid business advice from Jenner
Naturally, all of the Kardashian-Jenners have turned to their mom for business advice, given her successful track record.
During an interview with Jason Kennedy for his show In the Room, Kardashian explained that Jenner didn’t help her with her lifestyle site, Poosh.com because she wanted to do it herself and didn’t feel like her mother’s help was necessary.
“I felt like, I didn’t need her help.” Kardashian explained. “I just really felt like it was something I could do on my own with the right team.”
She also explained how all of the Kardashian-Jenners have benefitted from her mom’s advice, “don’t take no for an answer,” explaining, “I think we’re all a little scary, at times, when it comes to business.”
“We don’t take no for an answer,” Kardashian explained, adding, “My mom always taught us, ‘If you hear the answer no, you’re asking the wrong person.’”
In a 2015 interview with The New York Times Magazine, Jenner explained how her kids all have the work ethic and drive to succeed.
“There’s a lot of people that have great ideas and dreams and whatnot, but unless you’re willing to work really, really hard, and work for what you want, it’s never going to happen. And that’s what’s so great about the girls. It’s all about their work ethic,” she shared.
