Most people don’t think of the Kardashian-Jenner family as people who love to cook, but surprisingly, they have a number of recipes they prepare on their own. Granted, viewers typically see the sisters munching on a takeout salad whenever they’re shooting in their kitchen, but Kourtney Kardashian has one go-to winter recipe she cooks frequently.

The Kardashian-Jenner sisters have a few recipe staples they love

When the pandemic started, fans might recall seeing Kylie Jenner spending days on end in her kitchen. Jenner prepared meals such as banana pancakes, cookies with Stormi, and other dishes that helped pass the time. But she’s not the only sister who enjoys preparing her own food. Khloé Kardashian loves making ramen, and while Kim Kardashian’s personal chef, Marina, does most of her family’s cooking, she does have a mean cornbread recipe.

The Kardashian-Jenners dedicate plenty of time to working out. Most of the women spend between one and two hours daily in the gym, but that doesn’t mean they can’t enjoy a cheat day every now and then. Kourtney has said she prefers everything in moderation, and even once posted a photo biting into a loaf of bread to show her fans that she indulges, too.

Kourtney Kardashian swears by her homemade pomodoro sauce

Back in spring 2019, Kourtney launched her newest business venture: Poosh. The lifestyle website, which some have compared to Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop, is a place where Kourtney can share her health and wellness techniques, along with parenting tips and beauty hacks. It’s also where Kourtney shares plenty of her own lifestyle tricks, including some of her favorite recipes.

Before launching Poosh, though, Kourtney focused her time on her app, which is where fans first came across her tasty pomodoro sauce. “I love to make pasta dishes during the winter and this simple pomodoro recipe is a favorite of mine and the kids,” Kourtney wrote on her website, according to People. Kourtney uses gluten free pasta for the recipe, but depending on personal diet restrictions, any pasta can be used.

How to make Kourtney’s pomodoro sauce

Ingredients:
2 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
4 cloves organic garlic, minced
1 small yellow onion (or half of larger onion), diced
1 tsp. brown sugar
1 (28 oz.) can crushed San Marzano tomatoes
1 cup water
Salt
Black pepper
1/2 cup chopped fresh organic basil
Gluten-free penne (Kourtney uses Bionaturae)

Directions:
Heat olive oil in a skillet on medium-high heat until glossy. Add garlic and onions to oil; cook a few minutes until onions are tender and clear. Add crushed tomatoes, plus half of water, and heat about 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add brown sugar; season with salt and pepper. Reduce heat to low; simmer sauce another 3-5 minutes — add more water if sauce becomes too thick. Remove from heat, then add basil. Serve over pasta; garnish with more basil if desired.
