Kris Jenner Lied to Ellen DeGeneres About How Much Money She Makes Off Her Famous Kids
We know the Jenner/Kardashian family best for Keeping Up With the Kardashians. But Kylie, Kim, Khloé, Kourtney, Kendall, and Kris have their own spin-offs and product lines to keep them relevant for years to come.
Kris Jenner is quite close with Ellen Degeneres. And once when visiting The Ellen Degeneres Show, DeGeneres asked Kris about the percentage of money she makes off of her famous children — and Kris very obviously lied. Here’s what happened.

Kylie Jenner might not be the self-made billionaire that Forbes initially claimed she was, but she’s still ultra-successful thanks to her makeup line and famous family. And she even had a moment when getting her daughter out of bed that went viral. Kylie sang the words “rise and shine” — and it became a meme instantly.
DeGeneres talked to Kris on The Ellen DeGeneres Show about the success of “Rise and Shine” after it occurred, too. “Your brilliant manager brain — by the end of the day, you had T-shirts,” DeGeneres told Kris.
“It was really amazing the attention that we got from that,” Kris explained. “And so, by the end of the day, I was like, let’s print up some T-shirts, you know. Why not? It’s so easy. … We thought about it as a sub-brand of Kylie because she just became so overwhelmed with all the attention from that song.”
Kris lied to DeGeneres about the percentage she makes off her kids
As the conversation with DeGeneres continued, DeGeneres joked that Kris should continue to make more products to capitalize on the success of “Rise and Shine.” And the comedian further joked that she wants a cut of the income if any of her ideas sell.
“Do I get a little of that because I said it?” DeGeneres asked Kris while putting her fingers together to indicate cash.
“10%! Yeah!” Kris answered.
Then, DeGeneres asked Kris what she gets when it comes to money percentages off of her kids. And Kris clearly wasn’t telling the truth.
“If I get 10%, you get like, 25%? What do you get?” DeGeneres asked her.
“10,” Kris answered quickly.
“Liar,” DeGeneres answered back.
“She knows me so well,” Kris laughed.
Kris makes hundreds of millions of dollars thanks to her ‘momager’ skills
While Kris certainly makes enough money on her own thanks to the success of KUWTK, there’s no doubt she gets a bigger cut than 10% when she helps her kids out. All in all, Kris’ net worth stands at $140 million.
The bulk of that fortune certainly comes from the show. The Kardashians reportedly signed a deal with E! that earned them $150 million for five seasons of KUWTK. And Kris told DeGeneres in the past that she and her daughters all split the money equally so that everyone remains harmonious.
As for how much Kris makes off of being the “momager,” it’s unclear. But even if Kris did take 10% from her kids’ businesses, that amounts to millions. This is especially true for Kylie, as Kylie Cosmetics is reportedly worth $1.2 billion.
No matter how much Kris is making from her famous family, there’s no doubt the Kardashians are doing just fine with or without their show. But given the lie Kris gave DeGeneres, we’re betting she’s making a lot more than she lets on.
