Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard’s Baby Line Hello Bello Is Projected to Hit $200 Million in Sales for 2021
Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard might be best known to fans around the world as a power couple who each have numerous hit movies to their credit but in the world of business, they are also considered to be heavy hitters. Shepard and Bell, who have worked together several times over the years in movies like When in Rome, decided to take on an exciting new venture several years ago, launching a line of affordable baby basics. The line, dubbed Hello Bello, has experienced a great deal of success, and a recent report reveals that it is projected to hit a very exciting monetary milestone.
When did Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard launch Hello Bello?
Bell and Shepard announced in early 2019 that they were launching a complete line of baby care products called Hello Bello. The line, initially exclusively available at Walmart and through the brand’s own website, features “high-quality, everyday essentials that are better for babies, budgets and the planet,” according to a press release that was published in February 2019.
The brand includes everything from mineral sunscreen and diapers to shampoo and body wash. Many of the products are organic, making them ideal for babies with very sensitive skin. In the press release, Bell said that “As a mom of two, I know how beautifully messy parenthood can be, and that’s why we created Hello Bello – a line of premium, super-effective baby care products to take care of your kids from head-to-butt-to-toe. Our products are fresh and fun. More importantly, we use plant-based ingredients and organic botanicals that are better for our kids and better for our world.”
Hello Bello has become wildly successful
Consumers have made Hello Bello a slam-dunk success, and in the years since the line debuted at Walmart, it has grown from featuring around 10 products to dozens of new products and solutions, including items for home care and outdoors. It has also expanded from Walmart exclusivity to being stocked at other retailers such as CVS and Kohl’s.
According to a recent report from CNBC, Hello Bello is on track to bring in $200 million in gross sales by the end of 2021, roughly doubling its total from 2020. The report notes that a variety of factors has contributed to Hello Bello’s success, including the affordable price point, the fact that the products use natural ingredients, and its focus on being eco-friendly. Additionally, Hello Bello products are made in the U.S., cutting down on the effects of dealing with overseas manufacturers.
Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are parents to two young daughters
Bell and Shepard are more than entertainers and entrepreneurs—they are parents, to daughters Lincoln and Delta. It was their experience as parents raising young children that pushed them to launch Hello Bello in 2019.
As Bell explained to CNBC, they realized that bringing inexpensive, quality products to the American public was a niche that no one had seemingly attempted. “We were a little bit shocked that no one was attempting to tackle all of those things,” Bell said, noting that they also wanted Hello Bello to be “mission-driven,” where “no one would have to choose between their baby or their budget.”
Although Bell and Shepard prefer to keep their own kids out of the spotlight, giving them as much of a normal childhood as possible, it is clear that their love of children extends to ones that they don’t know – and that their mission to create sustainable, affordable products is one that is enriching many lives.
