Kristen Stewart Once Punched Chris Hemsworth so Hard That it Knocked Him Out of His Close-up
Kristen Stewart had a tense experience with Thor’s Chris Hemsworth when she landed a clean hit on his face while working with him. Although Stewart was less than thrilled about the experience, she couldn’t believe how strong her punch was when it landed.
How Kristen Stewart ended up punching Chris Hemsworth in ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’
Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth first worked together in the Rupert Sanders film Snow White and the Huntsman. Although the two got along well, there was one incident with Hemsworth that had the Twilight star panicking. When she ended up punching the Marvel actor in the face, her emotions were running high.
“It made such a sound,” she once said on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (via Today.) “Girls, if you’ve ever wondered if it works – it works! I mean, it literally spun him right around. It was crazy!”
Stewart soon added that the incident happened in a stunt gone wrong.
“I was supposed to miss him by this much. I basically knocked him right out of his close-up,” she shared.
Still, Stewart added that she was very concerned for her co-star after the punch landed.
“I mean, I’m not proud, though. Instantly tears sprung to my eyes. I’m like, ‘Are you OK?’” Stewart recalled.
According to Digital Spy, Stewart confided on The Graham Norton Show that she thought her punch derailed the movie altogether.
“It’s funny now but when it happened I thought, ‘I have just ruined the movie and I love this thing and we are going to have to stop filming’,” she said.
How Chris Hemsworth reacted to Kristen Stewart’s punch
Chris Hemsworth confirmed that Stewart’s punch did some real damage to him during the ordeal.
He confided on Live! With Kelly that he actually saw the punch coming several times. So much so that the actor asserted if he’d said something about it, he might’ve avoided being hit.
“The scene we were shooting, she was throwing the punch, (and) each take it started getting closer and closer, and the last take I felt it kinda skim my nose,” Hemsworth said according to Express. “I thought, ‘I should say something, but no, she’s small, it won’t hurt.’”
Hemsworth would later sustain real injuries after underestimating the Spencer actor.
“Next take – ‘Bam,’” Hemsworth continued. “My nose (was bleeding). Sharp pair of knuckles she has there, spun me over the shoulder and I didn’t want any part of that fight! (There were a) couple of tears…”

According to Business Insider, Kristen Stewart opened up on The Howard Stern Show about her alleged affair with Rupert Sanders. At the time of the scandal, Stewart was in a highly publicized relationship with The Batman star Robert Pattinson. Stewart believed that she wasn’t brought back for the Snow White and the Huntsman sequel because of the controversy surrounding said scandal.
Further delving into her feelings on the matter, Stewart called out those who chose not to put her in the sequel.
“Basically what I’m saying is, the work to me genuinely was ignored in a really sort of frivolous, silly, petty way. For a group of adult people who were supposed to be running studios and making films? Honestly, the film industry in Hollywood is so fear-based,” she said. “I think they’re idiots, because if you take a little risk and make something good, people will watch it and like it and pay you.”
