Kristin Chenoweth and Josh Bryant have been dating since 2018. The pair met two years earlier, at her niece’s wedding. Bryant’s band, Backroad Anthem, performed at the event.
The group later played at Chenoweth’s nephew’s wedding, and the pair reconnected and began dating.
Like many couples, Chenoweth and Bryant grew closer in 2020 when COVID-19 caused the world to shut down and prompted people to spend more time at home.
“We managed to stay creative and still have a good time,” Chenoweth told People. “My boyfriend is 14 years younger than me. Thus, I’m good at TikTok. I didn’t know what TikTok was — I didn’t necessarily want to do TikTok. Now I love TikTok with his help.”
Talking about how they got space from each other while spending so much time together, she said, “He took a couple of walks on his own, as did I, because you just can’t be with someone 24/7. That’s the truth. And yet we managed to make it work somehow.”
Ironically, Chenoweth’s future husband was not a big Broadway buff and had been to only two Broadway shows before meeting her. When the theaters reopened, the Wicked star took the musician to a performance of The Lion King.
“I kept telling Josh to get ready, but we both cried,” she laughed. “I saw The Lion King when it first opened, and it is still just as special.”

The couple announced their engagement in October 2021. Bryant proposed on the rooftop of New York City’s Rainbow Room, and Chenoweth was ecstatic.
“I’ve been the runaway bride,” Chenoweth joked to People. “Now that I’ve found him, I won’t let him go. I will race to greet him at the altar.”
Bryant added, “My best friend and soulmate said yes to me! Kristin is my world, my everything, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with her!”

Josh Bryant isn’t the only high-profile relationship Kristin Chenoweth has had over the years. She was previously linked to actors Seth Green, Lane Garrison, and Marc Kudsich and director/writer Aaron Sorkin.
Chenoweth and Sorkin began a romance after meeting on the set of his hit show The West Wing and dated on and off for four years. She even inspired a character from his 2006 show, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. The couple split in 2009, but there’s no bad feeling between the two.
In addition, the actor was engaged to producer Dana Brunetti, but the pair called it quits only a year into their relationship. According to Us Weekly, the couple’s busy schedules and extended time apart contributed to the breakup.
“It was just the distance,” an inside source said. “Dana’s career is jetting off right now, and Kristin traveled a lot already, and they just barely had time to see each other. He’s producing House of Cards now, speaking at conferences, and has to see his kid as well. Just didn’t make sense for either party to continue.”
