Has Kristin Chenoweth Ever Been Married?
We’ve known about Kristin Chenoweth’s skills as a multi-talented entertainer for years. She’s used her talents as an actor and singer to appear in some high-profile projects, even though her dream role playing Dolly Parton eludes her. Chenoweth has worked hard to construct a successful career, sometimes putting her love life to the side. She’s engaged to singer Josh Bryant, but has Chenoweth ever been married?
Kristin Chenoweth got engaged to Josh Bryant in 2021
Bryant proposed to then 53-year-old Chenoweth in a rooftop setting in New York City in October 2021. Their wedding date is TBD, but it was actually another wedding that brought them together.
Chenoweth met Bryant at her niece’s 2016 wedding, where Bryant’s band, Backroad Anthem, played, per Vogue. Then they re-met in 2018 when Backroad Anthem played Chenoweth’s nephew’s wedding. Vogue reports they started dating in 2018.
Both Chenoweth and Bryant were ecstatic to share their engagement news. “My best friend and soulmate said ‘Yes’ to me!” Bryant said, per Vogue. “Kristin is my world, my everything, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with her!”
“I’ve been the runaway bride,” the Glee actor said. “Now that I’ve found him, I won’t let him go. I will race to greet him at the altar.”
She’s looking forward to her wedding to Bryant, but has Chenoweth been married?
Chenoweth has not married before, though she was engaged
Chenoweth’s marriage to Bryant, who is 14 years younger, will be her first, but she has been engaged before.
Chenoweth was engaged to One Life to Live and All My Children actor Marc Kudisch, who played Steve Lasko on both shows. Chenoweth and Kudisch never married, as People reports.
She was engaged another time, too. Producer Dana Brunetti proposed to Chenoweth, and she said yes, but they never married.
The Wicked actor has been linked to Seth Green, Lane Garrison, and Aaron Sorkin in the past, reports People.
Chenoweth’s notable roles on stage and screen
Chenoweth’s first acting credits came in 1999 in LateLine, Paramour, The Wonderful World of Disney, and One Life to Live, per her IMDb profile. However, her career started before then and took off soon after.
Chenoweth acted in a New Jersey production of the play Animal Crackers in 1993, and she won a Tony in 1999 for her starring role in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown.
She had notable roles before, but 2003 was when Chenoweth’s fame went to another level. She starred alongside Idina Menzel in the Broadway production of Wicked, which picked up three Tony awards (but none for Chenoweth) in 2004. Interestingly, Chenoweth met a young Ariana Grande while working on Wicked, and Grande is now set to star in a new version of the musical.
Later, Chenoweth had prominent roles on The West Wing, Pushing Daisies, Glee, crime documentary spoof Trial & Error, and the intricately choreographed Schmigadoon!
She’s had some notable starring roles before, and when Chenoweth gets married to Bryant, she’ll be a star once again — in her own wedding.
