‘KUWTK’: Fans Can’t Stand When the Kardashian-Jenner Family Wear Shoes Around the House
Keeping Up with the Kardashians (KUWTK) is a reality TV mainstay and has been for years. That’s why it’s not surprising fans have begun to notice practically every little detail inside the homes of the Kardashian-Jenner family not to mention individual mannerisms of everyone on the show.
One thing fans have noticed is that everyone from the matriarch of the family, Kris Jenner, to her daughters; Kim Kardashian West, Kourtney Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, and Kylie Jenner, have all worn shoes inside while filming the show. They’ve even sat on the couch wearing shoes. Gasp!
Fans, of course, picked up on this slightly strange habit — Who wears heels sitting around their living room? Members of the Kardashian-Jenner family apparently. — and have been calling the family out on it for years. Ahead, find out what Kardashian West said to fans when they brought up the whole wearing-shoes-inside thing.
‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ debuted in 2007
The pilot episode of KUWTK premiered on Oct. 14, 2007. Since Kardashian West uttered the words, “I hate you all,” the show’s first line according to E! News, audiences haven’t been able to get enough of the Kardashian-Jenner family. Viewers have continued to watch KUWTK now in season 18, seeing the family through drama and major moments in life including weddings, divorces, pregnancies, and more.
The launchpad for a media empire, KUWTK has inspired at least 11 spinoff shows since it first aired. Today, thanks to their reality series, the Kardashian-Jenner family is known all over the world. And as they are well aware, fans have their own opinions about what happens on the show including what they wear while filming.
Fans don’t like it when they sit on the couch wearing shoes
While fans find it weird when members of the Kardashian-Jennifer family don’t immediately kick off their shoes when they walk through the door, what they find even more unsettling is that they wear shoes while sitting on the couch.
As BuzzFeed has pointed out, in season 14 of the show Kardashian West stood up on a couch wearing stiletto heels risking some serious damage to a likely pricey piece of furniture. Other times Kourtney could be seen curled up on a sofa wearing pristine white sneakers and the same goes for Kris.
Is it a family thing? Is it because they’re filming a TV show and want to wear shoes the entire time like actors on other TV programs? We just don’t get it. Luckily, Kardashian West once responded to fans who were curious about why they’re often seen wearing shoes inside.

Fans aren’t alone in thinking that the habit is nasty.
On Sept. 24, 2018, a fan tweeted, “Does anyone else not notice how they all put their feet on the couch … with their shoes ON!!” before adding, “I just don’t get it.”
According to Floor8, the same day Kardashian West responded to the tweet. “OMG we do! It is pretty gross,” she said.
Judging by Kardashian West’s response she seemed surprised by the comment. So, maybe it’s not because of filming but rather just a habit the family’s had and never noticed?
