‘KUWTK’: Fans Think the Kardashian-Jenners Seem More ‘Dead and Empty’ Now Compared to Before
The Kardashian-Jenners have been in the public consciousness for over 10 years now. When Keeping Up With the Kardashians first premiered in 2007, the family showcased itself as a wealthy Californian family. These days, however, they are some of the most famous celebrities in the world.
The changes in the lives of the Kardashian-Jenners have meant that their reality show is no longer the same as before. Yet, fans do not look at it positively. In fact, they think the Kardashian-Jenners and their show seem more ‘dead and empty’ nowadays.
The earlier seasons of ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ were different than the recent seasons
When KUWTK first premiered, the oldest siblings were in their 20s. Meanwhile, Kendall and Kylie Jenner were not yet teenagers. Fans could see that the family was very well-off, but they still maintained an air of relatability since they were not famous at the time.
However, the success of their show made the Kardashian-Jenners household names. In the past several years, the members went on to become extremely successful. Aside from being reality TV stars, they are also social media influencers, businesswomen, and, in the case of Kendall, one of the highest-paid models around.
Their fame has changed the content of KUWTK a lot. Instead of following the family through their everyday antics, KUWTK now showcases the Kardashian-Jenners’ extraordinary lives.
Fans think the Kardashian-Jenners seem more ‘dead and empty’ these days
Although the Kardashian-Jenners are doing better financially than before, fans who have been following the family season after season thinks their show is less lively than before.
“They are too rich to be relevant to normal people the way they used when they had a normal house and not a mansion,” one fan said on Reddit. “Also they were happier when they were less rich now they are like dead and empty just like their huge mansions.”
Some fans also pointed out that, after having kids, the Kardashian-Jenner siblings had to change their lifestyles.
One person wrote, “Having kids and having to take care of them instead of just focusing on fun and being the center of your own world, it’s a major drag. I’m sure they all are happy with their choices but it doesn’t translate to good TV if you were known for being bubbly and having fun and partying and stuff.”
Will ‘KUWTK’ end soon?
KUWTK has been on the air for almost 20 seasons now. This is no doubt a huge accomplishment for any show, but there are also questions about whether the reality series will end anytime soon.
It is not clear if or when KUWTK will end. However, since the Kardashian-Jenners’ lives are now quite different, with most of them pursuing careers outside of reality TV, it could make sense for the show to end at some point.
Additionally, with the abundance of social media usage (and the Kardashian-Jenners being some of the top influencers around), at some point, it might not be necessary for them to have a TV show anymore. After all, fans can keep up with the family on Instagram, Twitter, and other social media platforms.
