‘KUWTK’: Kim Kardashian West Revealed Why She Cried So Much Over the Show Ending
After 14 years of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, the Kardashian-Jenners finally called it quits, announcing in September that they will end the show in 2021. Kim Kardashian West admitted that it was a very emotional decision.
The Kardashian-Jenners announced the end of ‘KUWTK’
Fans of the long-running reality series were shocked when the family announced that the show would end after one more season.
Kim took to Instagram to share her thoughts on the decision, expressing her gratitude for the show launching her career. “It is with heavy hearts that we’ve made the difficult decision as a family to say goodbye to Keeping Up with the Kardashians, she wrote.
She continued, explaining, “After what will be 14 years, 20 seasons, hundreds of episodes and numerous spin-off shows, we are beyond grateful to all of you who’ve watched us for all of these years — through the good times, the bad times, the happiness, the tears, and the many relationships and children. We’ll forever cherish the wonderful memories and countless people we’ve met along the way.”
“Thank you to the thousands of individuals and businesses that have been a part of this experience and, most importantly, a very special thank you to Ryan Seacrest for believing in us, E! for being our partner, and our production team at Bunim/Murray, who’ve spent countless hours documenting our lives,” Kim noted. “Our last season will air early next year in 2021.”
The reality star also shared how the show made a household name. “Without Keeping Up with The Kardashians, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I am so incredibly grateful to everyone who has watched and supported me and my family these past 14 incredible years,” she wrote. “This show made us who we are and I will be forever in debt to everyone who played a role in shaping our careers and changing our lives forever.”
Kim said she cried when they made the ’emotional decision’
After so many years of cameras following their every move, the need to take a break and have some privacy seemed to drive the family’s decision. Even so, it was not the easiest choice to make. After they announced the news, Kim admitted that she spent the whole weekend in tears.
In an interview with Grazia magazine, Kim explained, “Oh, it was honestly the most emotional day.”
She continued, “The tears. I mean, I think I was crying all weekend. I’ll probably get emotional now on the phone. It was just a really emotional decision.”
Khloé Kardashian was the most devastated by the news
Even though Kim was crushed, according to Kris Jenner, Khloé Kardashian was the family member who took the news the hardest.
During a September interview with On Air with Ryan Seacrest, Jenner revealed how devastated Khloé was.
“We had to tell the crew yesterday, so we were all crying, but I think Khloé is probably the one who is taking it the hardest and really hasn’t stopped crying since we announced,” Jenner revealed.
The momager added, “She’s been so sweet and just emotional about it. But there is so much more life yet to live and we’re going to have the best time doing what we do.”
“It’s been a hard decision,” Jenner said. “I’m not going to lie. It’s been very emotional.”
