‘KUWTK’: Here’s Why Kylie Jenner Is Rarely Seen on the Show
In most of last season and all of this season, Kylie Jenner has practically been missing from Keeping Up With the Kardashians. The youngest member of the Kardashian-Jenner family doesn’t show her face much on episodes, unless it’s in a group setting where the whole family happens to be present. Oddly enough, Jenner is still posting videos to YouTube and is a large part of Travis Scott’s documentary on Netflix. Why isn’t she on the show?
Jenner has made fewer and fewer appearances on the show over the last several seasons
When KUWTK started filming, nobody in the family could have predicted the massive fame the women would reach from one 30-minute reality show (the episodes are now a full hour). Though Jenner is the youngest sister, she has arguably made the biggest name for herself with her cosmetics brand, Kylie Cosmetics. And over the last few seasons, she’s made fewer and fewer appearances on the show. A couple of years ago, Jenner took a step back from KUWTK to film her own show, Life of Kylie. And when she was pregnant with Stormi, she didn’t make too many appearances, either. It looks like her life is in a place where filming is no longer a top priority for her.
Jenner has said she doesn’t want to film Stormi for the show
Jenner was only nine years old when KUWTK started filming, and she remembers not having much of a decision in the process. Once the show took off, Jenner grew up in front of fans’ eyes, and she recalled in an interview how she thinks it gave people misconceptions about her; they thought they knew her, but they didn’t. Jenner has since said that she doesn’t want to put Stormi on the show until she’s old enough to make the decision herself whether or not she wants to be in the spotlight. That could also be part of the reason why Jenner isn’t filmed as much, either.
A lot of Jenner’s life has been aired out on the show
Aside from just going through the motions of life, there have been a lot of personal challenges that have bene aired out on KUWTK. Everything that happened between Jenner’s best friend, Jordyn Woods, and the rest of the family during the Tristan Thompson cheating scandal was probably hard for Jenner to watch. And having to dodge camera crews during her pregnancy, since she was trying to hide it, likely wasn’t too fun, either.

Over the past dozen years, Jenner has probably realized that having everyone know everything about your life isn’t all that fun. Though she still films videos for YouTube and played a big role in boyfriend Travis Scott’s Netflix documentary, she appears to have taken a step back from putting her whole life on camera because it isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Jenner built her brand out of her reality television fame, and now that she’s a billionaire, she doesn’t need the show in her life anymore. She still makes small appearances every now and then, but we probably won’t see her nearly as often as we see her sisters for the rest of the show’s life.
