Kyle Richards’ divorce might be a major talking point on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but there is much more family drama behind the scenes. Last week, Kyle Richards called the police to assist with her sister, Kim Richards, who is reportedly drinking again after a lengthy stint of sobriety. Police refused to intervene, and now it looks like eviction might be Kyle Richards’ only option.

Kyle Richards called the police on her sister

Earlier this week, TMZ reported a disturbance at Kyle Richards’ home. According to the publication, Kyle Richards called the police to have her sister, Kim Richards, removed from the property. Kyle Richards explained that the family had cut ties with her troubled sister in hopes of prompting her into sobriety. The 60-year-old TV personality was not removed from her sister’s house. Kyle’s call to authorities is Kim Richards’ second run-in with police this month. Earlier this month, she was placed on a 5150 hold. The hold came after police responded to a disturbance at a Hilton Hotel involving her.

Kim Richards has been open and honest about her struggle with substance in the past. The former RHOBH star spoke about her alcoholism multiple times during her run on the series, and in interviews after she walked away from the show. In 2015, she headed off to rehab for the fourth time. According to Entertainment Tonight, she checked herself into a recovery program after police were called on her at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

According to an Insider who spoke with Page Six, Kim Richards typically enters rehab after a major incident. Oftentimes, the police are involved. It is unclear if the recent call to the police will force Kim Richard’s hand again. Only time will tell. Until then, it appears she’s still living in Kyle Richards’ Encino property, but that could all change.

Why would Kyle Richards need to evict her sister from her home?

Unfortunately for Kyle Richards, the police department refused to intervene and remove Kim Richards from the home, citing that it was a civil matter. If Kyle Richards wants her sister to move out of her house, she must file a legal eviction notice, a move that the TV personality has yet to make.

So, why exactly would Kyle need to file to evict her sister? Because the Bravo starlet allowed her sibling to stay with her previously, Kyle’s home is likely considered Kim’s legal address at the moment. Because she has established herself as a resident of the dwelling, an eviction will be necessary unless Kim Richards opts to leave voluntarily. The eviction process isn’t an easy one, either. According to California Courts, proceeding with an eviction can take more than 45 days. It is unclear if Kyle Richards will move forward. Right now, it looks like Kim still lives there.
