Kylie Jenner Almost Had a Scary Run-In With a Home Intruder
People usually think of a home as a safe, comforting environment. However, sometimes a person’s house can be where the danger is.
Recently, Kylie Jenner almost had a scary experience with a home intruder. It is an unsettling reminder of how much precaution celebrities have to take to protect themselves and their family members.
A man broke into Kylie Jenner’s neighbor’s home looking for her
On Nov. 19, a man broke into the home of NBA star DeMar DeRozan in a gated community. According to TMZ, the intruder found his way into the play area, where at least one of DeRozan’s kids was. DeRozan quickly went to the play area and “chased the man out of the house.”
The man tried to return to the neighborhood but was stopped by security guards.
It turned out that the intruder was not looking to break into DeRozan’s home. Rather, he was targeting the house of DeRozan’s neighbor, Kylie Jenner. It seemed Jenner and her daughter, Stormi, were not physically harmed during this incident. Jenner subsequently filed a restraining order against the intruder.
Other Kardashian-Jenners also had run-ins with home intruders
The Kardashian-Jenners are some of the most famous celebrities in the world. Unfortunately, this also means they are likely to be targets for stalkers and home intruders.
In 2016, Kendall Jenner experienced a scary run-in with a stalker who showed up at her house. Kendall filed a restraining order against him and recalled having to stay at her neighbor’s house for a period of time because she was scared of being at her own home.
Meanwhile, according to Complex, Kris Jenner’s house has been broken into multiple times. In 2014, Kim Kardashian West even saw a man looking around Kris’ property. She called security, and while in custody, he apparently told law enforcement officers he was Kendall Jenner’s boyfriend and Justin Bieber’s step-brother.
Kim Kardashian West’s Paris robbery incident is the most high-profile home intruder situation for the family
In 2016, Kardashian West was robbed at gunpoint at a hotel in Paris. Several men dressed as police officers forced their way into her hotel room. They bound and gagged her and proceeded to steal millions of dollars worth of jewelry. They later escaped, which allowed Kardashian West to call for help.
Kardashian West has since spoken about the events on Keeping Up With the Kardashians as well as in various interviews. She noted that the event made her more careful about what she shares with the world.
“I feel like I’m such a different person,” Kardashian West said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2017. “I really feel like things happen in your life to teach you things.”
Kardashian West added, “I was definitely materialistic before—not that there’s anything bad with having things and working hard to get those things, I’m really proud of everyone around me that’s successful—but I’m so happy that my kids get this me, that this is who I am raising my kids. I just don’t care about that stuff anymore. I really don’t.”
