Kylie Jenner is known for switching up her look. The Kylie Cosmetics mogul has completely transformed her style in recent years, opting for a look that includes an assortment of wigs, super long nail extensions, and sultry figure-hugging outfits.
Jenner has been vocal about her love of wigs, even claiming that she, “invented them.” She has an entire room in her house that she’s dedicated to her assortment of various hairstyles, colors, and looks.
From short brown bobs to ultra-long yellow hair there aren’t many styles that the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star hasn’t tried out. However, there is one look that is her absolute favorite.

Though Jenner loves to rock her wigs and long nails, they are hardly new or “invented” by the 23-year-old. Long before she was born, Black women have worn wigs as protective styles for their curly textured hair. In fact, long nails were seen in the ’80s and ’90s by singers like Salt & Pepper and SWV and by every-day Black women. Jenner just saw them and decided to claim them for herself.
In fact, the mother-of-one and her sisters have long been accused of cultural apportion and blackfishing. As actor Amandla Stenberg describes it, blackfishng is when white women posing with black features — often darkening their skin, wearing traditionally Black hairstyles and more for clout. It’s very disheartening when they do this while remaining silent on Black social issues.
Jenner has also been at the center of this type of controversy which is why so many Black women were disappointed when she appeared in Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s “WAP” music video.
Kylie Jenner rarely shows her natural hair
Jenner rarely shows off her natural hair as she typically keeps it hidden under her wigs. However, amid the coronavirus pandemic, she did give fans a glimpse of her natural tresses.
In March 2020, Jenner showcased her natural hair while she was in the middle of dying them. Fans were stunned to see that Jenner’s hair is only chin-length. Reddit users pointed out that her hair looked very damaged, which should not be the case if she’s using her wigs as protective stylings.
Considering the fact that Jenner has trademarked a hair product collection that according to TMZ will include shampoos, conditioners, oils, gels, mousse, and dye, as well as dryers, curling irons, and brushes, she’s going to have to take care of her hair.

Jenner just revealed her favorite hairstyle and color of all time. She shared a throwback photo from 2018 of her cotton-candy pink-hued hair. The blush color was styled by celebrity stylist Chris Appleton who also styles Kim Kardashian West, Jennifer Lopez, and Ariana Grande’s hair.
Jenner shared the shot from a fan account on her Instagram stories captioning it, “pink hair will just always be my favvvv.”
Currently, Jenner is rocking a glossy bronde look, but we’re sure she’ll switch it up soon.
