Kylie Jenner Reveals 1 Famous Designer Once Convinced Her to Go Blonde: ‘We Made It Happen’
Beauty mogul Kylie Jenner has always been fearless in her style – and she loves changing up her looks. The Kylie Cosmetics founder has tried plenty of new hair trends; most of them have been adored by fans, while a few of them were a miss. But one look people loved was Jenner’s short, blonde bob that she rocked back in 2017. And she recently revealed that an ultra famous designer was the one behind the iconic look.
Kylie Jenner has worn many different hair colors and styles
Jenner grew up in the spotlight, so fans got to see her transition from an adolescent into an adult. And throughout her journey (which is still going), she’s experimented with many different hairstyles. Jenner has rocked everything from a short, dark bob (her most typical style), to long, bright yellow hair. She’s gone from lime green to pastel purple, but she’s also mixed in some more subtle styles, too. Her long, deep brown hair is a bit more natural looking, and it’s one she often goes back to.
There have been a few looks that haven’t gone over well with fans
For the most part, the wigs and extension styles Jenner chooses are a win with fans. But someone who has 170 million Instagram followers certainly isn’t exempt from criticism. There have been a few looks that fans haven’t loved, such as Jenner’s mega-long ponytail that she sported while on vacation with friends.
Fans also took issue with Jenner’s bleach blonde twists, which were seen by many as cultural appropriation. Jenner appeared to be going for a Gwen Stefani (circa 2001) style, but it certainly did not go over well with even her biggest fans.
Jenner’s blonde hair was inspired by Donatella Versace
In early May, Jenner was reminiscing on her favorite memories from past Met Galas. The beauty mogul had attended the Met Gala as early as 2016 alongside her sisters, and though the event couldn’t happen this year due to coronavirus, Jenner still shared some photos from past years to her Instagram stories and included some unknown secrets in the form of fun captions.
In a caption alongside a photo of Jenner at the 2017 Met Gala, she revealed that her signature blonde bob (which has rocked on several occasions through the years) was actually at the request of designer Donatella Versace. Jenner had worn a Versace dress to the event. “Donatella asked I go blonde last minute and we made it happen,” Jenner wrote alongside the photo. “I loved this look.” To date, the blonde bob is one of Jenner’s more iconic hairstyles.
Despite trying many different looks through the years, Jenner has now tried to give her hair a bit of a break because she’s been staying at home. She’s shown off her true locks and has kept her makeup on the more natural side, too. Jenner has been an advocate of staying home, and she’s been instructing her followers to do the same. Rather than go out, she’s been spending time with her daughter, starting a garden, and filming plenty of Tik Toks.
