Kylie Jenner Ripped Into the Theory of the ‘Kardashian Curse’
Kylie Jenner is the wealthiest member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan. This is an especially impressive feat considering that she is the youngest of the siblings.
Jenner has spent the majority of her life in the spotlight, starring in episodes of Keeping Up with the Kardashians when she was only ten years old. Jenner seems to be made for the spotlight and has never suffered from public meltdowns or spirals like some other reality TV stars.
Still, she recently admitted that there have been many in the famous family’s circle that can’t handle the pressure that comes with media scrutiny – and in so doing, she might have just confirmed the infamous ‘Kardashian curse.’
What is the ‘Kardashian curse’?
The Kardashian-Jenner clan has gone through a lot in the public eye, including a multitude of failed relationships. The family has dealt with divorces, bitter breakups, romantic feuds, and even custody disputes, all while forging ahead with their reality show and their host of business ventures.
A few years ago, the idea of what became known as the “Kardashian curse” first started making the rounds. The curse refers to people who have dated members of the Kardashian Jenner family and then fallen prey to some sort of misfortune, whether that be career troubles or personal problems.
Many have been victims of the Kardashian curse, including Lamar Odom, Khloe Kardashian’s former husband. Odom overdosed in a brothel and nearly lost his life. Ultimately, his life and career would never be the same after spending some time in the Kardashian inner circle.
Kris Humphries, who was infamously married to Kim Kardashian for 72 days, would experience his career completely derailing after their divorce.
Are Kylie Jenner’s exes cursed?
Jenner has been in several high-profile relationships over the years. Her first serious boyfriend was rapper Tyga. The two started dating in 2015 after several years of friendship.
While there was a great deal of controversy about her young age — she was only seventeen at the time — they seemed to be very much in love. Jenner and Tyga were hot and heavy for several years until they ultimately broke up in early 2017.
Tyga has continued to work in the music industry and has collaborated with influential artists such as Migos and Chris Brown. He released his seventh album in early 2019, proving that he was one Kardashian-Jenner ex who was able to escape the curse.
After splitting from Tyga, Jenner started dating up-and-coming rapper Travis Scott. Things moved very quickly between the young couple and they ended up welcoming a baby in early 2018. Jenner and Scott dated until late 2019, when they quietly split up, quashing any speculation that there was animosity between them. Scott is one of the most popular rappers of his generation and continues to sell-out tours around the world, despite the fact that he is no longer dating Jenner.

Jenner’s exes have, so far, escaped the devastating effects of the Kardashian curse. However, according to a 2018 interview with Jenner, the curse itself isn’t really a thing.
“They come and can’t handle it,” Jenner said, referring to the pressure of fame and being in the spotlight. “It’s everyone around us that aren’t used to it. And we’re just like, “Oh, that’ll go away in a day.”
It is clear that the Kardashians, if not built for fame, have become very used to it, and anyone who wishes to remain in their inner circle should either adjust or get out of the picture.
