The saga of Lady Gaga‘s stolen dogs has gripped the Internet, and the story thankfully now has a happy ending. Gaga’s dog walker Ryan Fischer was caring for the singer’s bulldogs while she was in Paris and ended up being the victim of a violent robbery.

Lady Gaga’s dog robbery

Ryan Fischer was walking Gaga’s French bulldogs Koji, Gustav, and Miss Asia one day in February 2021 when he was approached by a group of armed assailants. He was shot on the street in Hollywood and Koji and Gustav were taken, while Miss Asia escaped.

Gaga offered a $500,000 reward for the return of her pets. Two days later, an unidentified woman brought Koji and Gustav to a police station in Los Angeles, and police were able to find Miss Asia.

The Grammy-winning singer shouted out Fischer on Twitter for his courage in facing the robbers on Twitter. “I continue to love you Ryan Fischer,” she said. “You risked your life to fight for our family. You’re forever a hero.”

Ryan Fischer is an animal lover

Fischer himself loves dogs and other animals, and he often shows his furry friends on his Instagram dedicated to pooches called Valley of the Dogs. Gaga’s bulldogs are featured on the page as well as many other dogs, though it isn’t clear if they’re ones he looks after or his own pets.

Fischer treats the dogs on his Instagram like real people and talks to them like they’re his human friends. He’s pictured in some photos laughing with dogs and getting kissed by them. He also writes long captions and fictitious stories about them based on their quirky characters, often speaking for them.

Ryan Fischer has known Lady Gaga (and her dogs) for years

The Valley of the Dogs page is almost completely dedicated to Fischer’s four-legged friends, with the most recent exception being photos of him in a hospital bed after the robbery.

Fisher first noted his connection to Gaga — and Koji, Gustav, and Miss Asia — when he posted a photo of the “Poker Face” singer on the red carpet back in 2015.

“It’s the stage moms of my 3 favorite frenchies!” he said of the star.

As Fischer laid in his hospital bed, he acknowledged that he may be out of commission for the foreseeable future, but he can’t wait for the day when he’s finally reunited with Gaga’s pups. “A lot of healing still needs to happen, but I look forward to the future and the moment when I get bombarded with kisses and licks (and maybe even an excitement pee?) from Asia, Koji, and Gustav,” he said.

He also thanked Lady Gaga and her team for being by his side every step of the way: “You have shown so much support throughout this whole crisis to both me and my family. But your support as a friend, despite your own traumatic loss from your kids, was unwavering. I love you and thank you.”
