Who Is Lady Gaga’s Fiancé, Michael Polansky?

While in Paris for the Summer Olympics, Lady Gaga seemingly dropped the news that she has a new fiancé. Gaga, who has been in a relationship with Michael Polansky since 2020, appears to be taking the next step with him. Here’s what you should know about Gaga’s beau. 

Lady Gaga revealed she has a new fiancé at the Paris Olympics

After performing at the opening ceremony for the Summer Olympics, Gaga remained in Paris to watch the competition. While at a swim event, she introduced Polansky as her fiancé during a conversation with French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal. 

Polansky and Gaga were first spotted together in late 2019, with photographers snapping pictures of them kissing at a New Year’s Eve Party. Gaga confirmed the relationship on social media in Feb. 2020. They have kept their relationship relatively low key since then, but Polansky has supported her at various events over the years. 

Polansky is an entrepreneur and investor. Per Harper’s Bazaar, he co-founded the Parker Foundation with Sean Parker in 2015. The organization pursues systemic change in life science, public health, civic engagement, and the arts. He also co-founded the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy.

A friend of Lady Gaga and her fiancé said they acted like a married couple long before they were engaged

Though Parker and Gaga have seemingly only recently decided to tie the knot, a source close to the couple said they’ve been acting like they’re married for years. 

“[They] don’t seem rushed about getting engaged,” a source told People in 2021. “They almost act like a married couple already.”

The couple reportedly enjoyed a quiet life together. It was clear to those around them that they had a strong connection.

“They get takeout from local restaurants or hang out with friends at home,” the source shared. “When they are together, it’s obvious that Gaga is crazy about him. She always giggles and touches him. They are very affectionate and have the best chemistry.”

While friends said the couple were opposites in some ways, they shared a drive and focus that makes them work well together.

“Michael is very sweet and supportive,” the source said. “He is hardworking as well, so he appreciates her focus. They are a great team.”

She was previously engaged to Taylor Kinney and Christian Carino

Before her relationship with Polansky, Gaga was engaged to actor Taylor Kinney and Christian Carino. She met Kinney in 2011, on the set of the music video for her song “Yoü and I.” Four years later, Kinney proposed on Valentine’s Day with a heart-shaped diamond. In 2016, however, the couple announced that they had ended their engagement. 

“Taylor and I have always believed we are soulmates,” Gaga wrote in a statement, per InStyle. “Just like all couples we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break. We are both ambitious artists, hoping to work through long-distance and complicated schedules to continue the simple love we have always shared. Please root us on. We’re just like everybody else and we really love each other.”

While they did not get back together, Kinney and Gaga have reportedly maintained a friendly relationship. 

In 2017, Gaga began dating talent agent Christian Carino. She revealed that she was engaged in 2018, but the couple ended their engagement in 2019.
