Lamar Odom Acknowledged That Khloé Kardashian Deserved Better Following Tristan Thompson Cheating Scandal

Ever since Khloé Kardashian called it quits from her on-again-off-again boyfriend, Tristan Thompson, following his cheating scandal in 2019, her ex-husband, Lamar Odom, has been nothing but supportive of her. In fact, just a few months after the couple’s breakup made headlines, Odom touched upon Kardashian’s situation, noting that she deserved much better than to be cheated on by the father of her child.

In February 2019, Kardashian’s relationship with Thompson came crumbling down after reports surfaced that he had hooked up with Kylie Jenner’s longtime best friend, Jordyn Woods, at a house party.

Once word got around that the NBA player had been unfaithful to her yet again, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star ended their relationship.

During this tumultuous time in the Good American founder’s life, her ex-husband, Odom, was on a promotional tour for his memoir, Darkness To Light. While he discussed the content in the book itself during interviews, the former NBA star also reflected on all that Kardashian had gone through in the past year.

While speaking with Entertainment Tonight in May 2019, Odom expressed empathy toward Kardashian’s situation, acknowledging that she deserved much better than a partner who cheats.

“She doesn’t deserve that,” he declared. “She’s a beautiful person from the inside out. You know, [it’s] just a man being as stupid as I was. Just a bad decision.”

Though Thompson’s cheating scandal had hurt and embarrassed her, Kardashian eventually forgave him for his actions.

While she maintained nothing more than a co-parenting relationship with him in the beginning, the two decided to give their love another try in 2020 after spending quality time together amid the coronavirus pandemic.

In August 2020, HollywoodLife revealed how Odom reported felt about the couple’s reconciliation, noting that though he still cared for Kardashian, he wasn’t interested in her love life.

“Whatever Khloe does, is up to her. He hopes she is happy and that is pretty much where things stand,” a source shared of Odom. “Lamar is happy with his life right now and if Khloe is happy to be with Tristan or not, he isn’t really focused on her love life…He understands he will always be connected with Khloe and that is fine. There were good times there but he has to move on.”

Although Odom moved on from Kardashian in recent years, his feelings for her haven’t subsided.

Since their divorce in 2016, Odom has told multiple outlets that he will always love the reality star, who holds a special place in his heart.

Now that both are single (Odom called off his engagement to fitness trainer Sabrina Parr in November 2020), the athlete has his eyes on Kardashian once again.

On July 9, the mother of one posted an Instagram photo of herself in a bikini, standing underneath an outdoor shower. Odom found himself thirsting over the snapshot as he commented “Hottie” under the post.

However, Thompson, who also comment under the post with heart and drooling face emojis, didn’t appreciate Odom’s sentiment. Not long after Odom shared his comment, Thompson replied to the message with, “God brought you back the first time. Play if you want, different results.”

It seems Odom and Thompson are willing to go head to head for Kardashian’s affection. But is she willing to give one of them another chance later down the line? Only time will tell.
