Larsa Pippen on Why Her Friendship With Kim Kardashian Ended: ‘I Knew Too Much’
Larsa Pippen’s fallout with the Kardashian family was something many did not see coming. Furthermore, Pippen being so open about their discord was praised by fans and insiders who say there’s a risk to one’s career when speaking negatively about the famous family. Now, Pippen says she’s in a better place with her former BFFs. But on a recent episode of The Real Housewives of Miami, Pippen said knowing the ins and outs of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s marriage made her a threat.

Pippen, who is the ex-wife of Scottie Pippen, was a close friend of the entire Kardashian family for years. They vacationed together and their children formed close bonds as well. But fans noticed the family unfollowed Pippen on social media and it was eventually confirmed that the friendship was over. According to Pippen, their friendship went downhill due to her being in the know about Kardashian’s marital trouble with West.
“I was best friends with Kim, and I love her and I love Kanye, and I just was the person that was stuck in the middle,” Pippen said in the Feb. 10 episode of RHOM. “I was the friend that was basically there and saw everything. And that basically was the demise of our relationship. I knew too much, I was a problem, and so, whatever. That’s kind of what happened.”
Fortunately, Pippen says things are now better between her and Kardashian. In an interview Us Weekly, Pippen gave an update. “I feel like we’re in a really good place. You know, I feel like there was a lot [of] miscommunication at the time,” she said. “We’ve all apologized to each other. We’re in a really good place.”
She shared similar sentiments in a recent chat with Entertainment Tonight. “Honestly, Kim and I are in a good place,” she said in that interview late last year. “I love them, I love her. I wish nothing but great things for them. I feel like they wish nothing but great things for me.”
She previously accused Kanye West of causing issues between her and Kim Kardashian
According to Pippen, West caused drama between her and the Kardashians. She alleged previously that he would call her at all hours of the night to vent about his problems with Kardashian and that she became a sounding board for him. At some point however, a rift with Kardashian grew.
““I feel like Kanye was in a place where he really didn’t trust anyone with Kim and I feel like he was like ‘don’t be so close to her’ because I was really close to her. I feel like that had something to do with it,” she said in an interview Hollywood Raw podcast. In a separate interview with Hollywood Unlocked, Pippen said that some women dismiss their friends to keep the peace in their romantic relationships.
“I never would want to be in a situation where I’m with a guy in a relationship and I feel compromised and feel insecure, there’s nothing worse than that,” she said. “If you are in a relationship where you are insecure and feel some type of way than anything that anyone says you will believe. Some people value men over friends.”
At the time, she admitted to being sad over the fallout, telling Hollywood Raw. “I’m okay – I will survive – was it hurtful [the friendship ended] yes, but do I have love from a lot of other places? Yes,” Pippen says. “This shall pass too.”
