Lastonia ‘Stoni’ Leviston Says 50 Cent Used Her in Explosive Feud with Rick Ross Over Sex Tape Scandal: ‘I Was Collateral Damage’
50 Cent filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2015, surprising fans who watched the rapper’s rise to stardom via hit songs like “Candy Shop” and “21 Questions.” At the time, 50 Cent, aka Curtis Jackson III, faced several financial difficulties, which he brought on himself according to Lastonia “Stoni” Leviston’s supporters. Ten years later, the former girlfriend of Rick Ross is setting the record straight on the sex tape he leaked online without her permission.
Leviston stars in W.A.G.s to Riches, a Netflix reality show following nine current and former “W.A.G.S.,” or wives and girlfriends of professional athletes. The cast, including the ex-fiancée of NFL player Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, the former love interest of rapper Kodak Black, the wife of Miami Dolphins player Philip Wheeler, and the wife of retired boxer Andre Berto, frequently discuss Leviston’s murky past, causing the fashion entrepreneur to address her previous relationship with Rick Ross and high-profile sex tape.
Leviston’s relationship with Rick Ross began in 1999 and ended when their daughter, Toie, was 2, around 2003. The mom explained that she felt she was “his Lil Kim and he was my Biggie” before their breakup. Leviston began dating longtime boyfriend Maurice Murray, who was “into videotaping” and wouldn’t “really ask” before pulling out the camera during their intimate moments.
“I’m trying to show [Murray]… how much love I have for him,” she clarified to castmate Alexis Welch Stoudemire, the ex-wife of NBA player Amar’e Stoudemire. Later in their relationship, Leviston broke up with Murray after she caught him cheating. Around the same time, “the beef started between Rick and 50 Cent,” she explained. Murray sold one of their sex tapes to 50 Cent, who released it online, making Leviston “collateral damage” in a feud she had nothing to do with.
As Leviston cried on W.A.G.s to Riches, she shared, “In that second my whole life changed. I became suicidal; I didn’t want to live anymore. I felt like I was damaged goods. Like no man would ever love me again. I felt like I had let my kids down tremendously.” Leviston did not take the setback sitting down. In 2010, she filed a civil lawsuit against 50 Cent, alleging that he uploaded the video without her consent.
Five years later, Leviston won the lawsuit, which ordered the “In Da Club” rapper to pay her $5 million. 50 Cent subsequently filed for bankruptcy, citing this order and another legal factor, reports Forbes. At the time, he was also ordered to pay $18.1 million to Sleek Audio, which won an arbitration settlement regarding 50 Cent stealing their ideas for his headphone line.
Years later, Leviston finally shares her full side of the story on W.A.G.s to Riches. Get the full story via the Netflix show, which is currently streaming its first full season.
