In December 2024, Walmart released a Gilmore Girls-themed commercial. While the ad spot was short, it did give fans a glimpse into life inside Stars Hollow in 2024. Luke Danes, Lorelai Gilmore, and Kirk Gleason were the characters the advertisement opted to feature. Still, hints of other Gilmore Girls characters can be seen. Lauren Graham, the actor who portrayed Lorelai, recently revealed that fans get a glimpse into the life of Rory Gilmore’s child during the ad. They need to look at the art on the walls of Luke’s Diner.

Lauren Graham recently appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. During her chat with the famed late show host, Graham revealed that while Rory Gilmore didn’t appear in the beloved Walmart commercial, hints about her life were included in the 30-second ad spot.
Graham confirmed that Rory Gilmore’s child made the artwork that is seen hanging up in Luke’s Diner. Graham, however, was extra careful not to reveal whether her grandchild is a boy or a girl. While most Gilmore Girls fans believe Rory would have a daughter and raise her just as Lorelai raised Rory, Amy Sherman-Palladino has suggested the opposite could be the case. She once mused that seeing a boy raised inside the female-centric Gilmore family would be interesting. We don’t disagree.
How old would Rory Gilmore’s baby be?
While Lauren Graham didn’t give away too much information about what Rory Gilmore’s life as a mother looks like, it’s clear from what she said that Luke and Lorelai are actively involved in the child’s life. Do you know how old the baby would be?
Rory announced her pregnancy in the final moments of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. The announcement came after Luke and Lorelai’s long-awaited wedding. The couple wed on Nov. 5, 2016. Assuming Rory was about 8 to 12 weeks pregnant when she told Lorelai, we can assume she likely had her baby in the spring of 2017.
Based on that timeline, Rory’s child would turn eight this year. While the revival didn’t reveal the child’s paternity, it’s assumed that Logan Huntzberger, Rory’s college sweetheart, is the child’s father. Logan and Rory were having an affair during the four-part special, although they appeared to cut things off as the final chapter of the revival closed. There is no news on a second revival season to finish their story.
