‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ Season 2 Air Date Announced
If you’re a big fan of the Law & Order franchise, you’re likely wondering when Law & Order: Organized Crime returns to television. Not to worry, it won’t be long until the series continues with the storylines of Elliot, Angela, and the rest of the team. Here’s when the television show returns.
Elliot Stabler on Law & Order: Organized Crime
Elliot’s (Chris Meloni) season 1 storyline ended in a cliffhanger. The last time we saw him, he was standing in a hospital hallway, calling for help. He watched as Angela Wheatley (Tamara Taylor) clung to life after being poisoned. It’s not clear if she will survive.
One theme that kept coming up was the love triangle between Elliot, Olivia, and Angela. At one point in the series, Elliot was getting close to Angela. He often came to her apartment and confided in her about his grief. Losing his wife, Kathy Stabler, was difficult for him. He felt Angela would understand how he felt because her son Rafiq was killed a few years ago. However, the relationship between Elliot and Angela quickly soured after he discovered she was the one who put the hit on Kathy.
When does ‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ Season 2 return to television?
Law & Order: Organized Crime returns to NBC Thursday, Sept. 23, at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Law & Order: SVU airs right before that, at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
Taylor tells The Wrap she understands why some fans are angry about the love triangle on Law & Order: Organized Crime. Some viewers have been rooting for a romantic relationship between Olivia (Mariska Hargitay) and Elliot for a long time, and they don’t want anyone to get in the way.
“Law & Order fans are some of the most passionate fans I’ve ever come in contact with,” says Taylor in her interview with The Wrap. “And they’re lovely. So, I felt very, very welcomed into the Law & Order universe.”
Although Taylor feels welcome, she’s aware many viewers are upset with her character. “They seem to be very, very angry at Angela, many of them,” says Taylor. “But they’ve made a clear distinction that they’re not angry at me, the actor. They’re just a little pissed with Angela because she’s getting in the way of a relationship that they’ve been rooting for for 22 years.”
Changes to the ‘Law & Order’ franchise
There was supposed to be a third series added to the Thursday night Law & Order lineup titled Law & Order: For the Defense, but last-minute changes ended those plans. The show originally received a straight-to-series order, but NBC decided not to move forward with the show, reports Deadline. Instead, Blacklist, starring James Spader, will fill this time slot. The series previously aired on Fridays, but will now move to Thursday nights this fall.
Law & Order: For the Defense was supposed to focus on stories about a criminal defense firm. The series got to the point where casting was taking place, according to Deadline. The publication goes on to say there are rumors of another show in the works that isn’t focused on law.
