Law & Order: SVU has an enormous following of loyal fans who can’t seem to get enough of the hit series. The show has now been renewed for three additional seasons, and that means there’s plenty of speculation as to what could be coming in future episodes. ‘Law & Order: SVU’ has been renewed for 3 seasons
SVU has already made history with its current season, but it’s making history again by getting an additional three seasons in the future. Dick Wolf, the mind behind the series, has signed a deal with Universal Television, according to Deadline. The Chicago drama series are also included in the renewal deal.
Because the show has such a large following, it’s no surprise that fans have a lot of opinions about what they’d like to see in the new seasons. Numerous fans on Reddit have strong opinions, especially when it comes to characters they’d like to return.
Fans want Rafael Barba to return
Fans on Reddit want Rafael Barba (Raúl Esparza) to return. Barba was the assistant district attorney for the squad for a number of years, and he’s dearly missed by fans. “I’d love Barba to come back he was my favorite ADA,” a Reddit user said.
Many other fans seemed to agree that they need more Barba on their screens. “Barba back ftw. I absolutely adore Barba. He has such a relatable spirit and I wish I had half of the passion he does,” another user expressed.
One Reddit user would like to see Detective Munch (Richard Belzer) again, even though he’s retired now. “Gotta have Munch back for a victory lap,” the Reddit user said.
Some fans want to see less of the current SVU bureau chief
A few fans would like to see less of the current SVU bureau chief, Vanessa Hadid (Zuleikha Robinson). “I am so over Hadid. Each new episode just solidifies that for me,” a fan said.
Another viewer doesn’t understand whether the series wants fans to believe Hadid is corrupt. “I don’t really understand where they’re trying to go with her character…every several episodes they seem to imply that she’s shady or maybe corrupt…and she’s just so unlikeable in general,” a Reddit user said.
Many fans want the show to bring back Detective Elliot Stabler
Numerous fans are ready to see Detective Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) on the series again, even if it’s only for a few minutes with his old partner, Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay).
“I low key want to see Benson have some sort of phone call or run-in with Stabler just for kicks and giggles. Like a catch-up scene. Used to love their chemistry. I know he is never coming back as a regular but it would be cool to have a 5-minute glimpse of him,” a fan said.
Other fans also brought up the fact that they’d like Dr. Melinda Warner (Tamara Tunie) to come back as the medical examiner on the series. People would also love to see Dr. George Huang (BD Wong) again as the accomplished forensic psychiatrist on the show.
