Lawson Bates Leaves Thirsty Comment on Jana Duggar’s Instagram After She Jokes About Being Single
It seems like Lawson Bates might have his eye on Jana Duggar. After the Counting On star joked about her perennially single status, the Bringing Up Bates cast member was quick to chime in with a thirsty comment that had her followers wondering if a romance could be brewing between the two.

In the August 12 post, a smiling Jana poses under a sign that reads, “Please form a single line.” Her caption is the megaphone emoji.
At 30, Jana is the oldest unmarried Duggar child. While many of her siblings have married and had kids, she still lives at home with her parents and the younger Duggars. While being single at 30 might not be that unusual in this day and age, it’s a bit odd in the environment the Duggars were raised in, where women often marry in their early 20s and have multiple kids before age 30.
Lawson Bates chimes in
Lawson, 28, was quick to comment on Jana’s post. That’s not totally surprising. The Bates and Duggar families are old friends, and Lawson has popped up on Jana’s Instagram before. Still, his most recent comment definitely caught the attention of a number of Jana’s followers.
“Post objective / instruction unclear: pls explain further,” Bates wrote, adding a rolling on the floor laughing emoji.
Jana didn’t appear to acknowledge Lawson’s comment. But her fans were quick to notice his flirty move, with many sharing their thoughts on whether the two would make a good couple.
Some people really want Lawson and Jana to get together
After reading Lawson’s comment, a number of people were begging him to make a move and start courting Jana.
“We the people would like this pair up!” one wrote.
“100% y’all should be a pair,” another commented.
This isn’t the first time fans have speculated about a possible romance between the two reality TV personalities from big families. Last August, some people got excited when the singer-songwriter commented on one of Jana’s posts.
“I really think you and Lawson are made for each other. Both so sweet, gorgeous hearts of gold with amazing musical talent,” read one fan’s comment at the time.
Jana says she wishes she were married
So far, there are no serious signs of a relationship between Jana and Lawson. Recently, she spoke with Us Weekly about how much she would like to be in a relationship. But she added that she is focusing on enjoying her time as a single woman.
“Yes, I long to be married and one day I think that will come, but I think … I’m just also just trying to stay busy with whatever comes along my path,” she said.
She went on to say that she tries not to put too much pressure on herself to find the right guy.
“I think if I sit there and I’m like, ‘Oh no, I’m not married’ and just [get] all worried about it, it makes things way worse,” she said.
