Lawson Bates’s Valentine’s Day Instagram Post Has ‘Counting On’ Fans Begging Him to Court Jana Duggar
Is Lawson Bates auditioning to be the next Bachelor? The Bringing Up Bates star’s belated Valentine’s Day post — where he was dressed in a suit and holding a single red rose — had some fans suggesting that he’d be the perfect candidate to find love on the popular reality series.
There’s no indication that the single singer-songwriter will be moving into the Bachelor Mansion anytime soon. And that’s just fine by some of his followers, who think they’ve already found the perfect woman for him.
Lawson Bates is looking for love
Lawson, 27, took to social media the day after Valentine’s Day to announce that he was looking for love.
“Hi, I’m late for Valentine’s Day 🤦🏻♂️ but it seems my girlfriend is too 🤷🏼♂️,” he wrote. “FYI, your rose is wilting so pls make yourself known ASAP.”
While Lawson made it clear he was searching for “the one,” his mother had some supportive words.
“Lawson, there’s just no one good enough in mom’s opinion!!!!!!” commented the official Bates family Instagram account.
Meanwhile, his younger sister Carlin thought her brother’s post was hilarious, writing, “Bahahaha 🤣 Caption goals 🙌🏽.”
Fans want Lawson Bates to court Jana Duggar
Lawson might still be searching for that special someone, but fans believe they’ve already found the right person for him: Counting On star Jana Duggar.
“I just feel like he and Jana Duggar will be perfect for each other. They are both so passionate about the same things,” commented one person.
“@janamduggar 💐she’s one of the amazing women that truly good for you. You better make a way to get her. 💯💯💯💯,” another wrote.
Lawson and Jana have sparked courting rumors before
This isn’t the first time that fans have speculated that Lawson and Jana, 30, could eventually get together. For years, people have thought that the two Christian reality TV stars would make the perfect couple. In addition to their shared values, the Duggar and Bates families have known each other for years. Lawson’s sister Carlin is even close friends with Jana’s younger sister Joy-Anna. Plus, each has 18 siblings.
Jana and Lawson definitely know each other. He’s left friendly — and in the eyes of fans, flirtatious — comments on her social media posts in the past. Back in 2018, he even shared a photo of the eldest Duggar daughter on his Instagram. He quickly deleted the photo, but not before some fans saw it and took it as evidence that a low-key romance was blossoming.
Jana says she’s looking for Mr. Right
At 30, Jana is the oldest unmarried Duggar. Many Counting On fans have lamented her “always a bridesmaid” status and wondered if she’ll ever meet the right guy and move out of her parents’ house. Jana herself has joked about how “handsome prince” is riding in on a “green turtle instead of a white horse. In the words of Michael Buble, ‘Just haven’t met [him] yet!’” She’s even admitted that she’s been in courtships in the past, but they didn’t work out.
Jana’s not spilling any details on past romances, but fans have wondered if one of those courtships might have involved Lawson. But there are also rumors that Lawson’s brother Zach (who is now married) tried to court Jana and that Jana was at one time interested in Chad Paine, who eventually married Lawson and Zach’s sister Erin.
While Jana seems interested in eventually getting married, she doesn’t appear to want to rush to the altar with the wrong guy. And, as she said in a recent episode of Counting On, being single gives her a certain amount of freedom.
“If I was sitting here waiting to get married, I think that would be more depressing but instead, I really look at this as, OK what are other things that I could be doing right now that maybe I can’t do later?”
