‘Legacies’ Season 3 Finale Hints Hope and Landon are Still Together
The CW gave Legacies an early season 3 finale with “Fate’s a B—-, Isn’t It?.” The episode ended with Landon still missing in action, which is good news for Handon shippers. Because if he’s been gone all this time, it means Landon never really broke up with Hope.
Landon broke up with Hope earlier this season on ‘Legacies’
Earlier this season on Legacies, Hope (Danielle Rose Russell) loses Landon (Aria Shahghasemi) to the Malivore pit right after they sleep together for the first time. Knowing she’s toxic to Malivore, she believes Landon dissolved into the mud because of her.
Later in the season, she’s reunited with Landon thanks to Cleo (Omono Okojie). But it turns out, this super sweet and hyper version of Landon is just the Gollum Cleo created.
But this new Landon insists he’s just a hardened soldier after being trapped in Malivore’s prison world for so long. And eventually, he breaks up with Hope.
‘Legacies’ season 3 episode 16 reveals Malivore has been disguised as Landon the whole time
In the season 3 finale of Legacies, Landon’s violent tendencies are finally explained. After he stabs Clark (Nick Fink) and eats Cleo, Hope realizes that he’s actually Malivore.
The mud monster likely hijacked Landon’s body in the prison world and used him as a vessel to get out. And knowing Hope is the only one who could kill him, he broke up with her to keep his distance.
By the end of the episode, Alaric (Matthew Davis) and Hope bring Landon/Malivore back to the school as a prisoner. And now that she knows he’s not the real Landon, Hope will probably do everything she can to get her boyfriend back.
Will Hope and Landon get back together in ‘Legacies’ season 4?
With the Landon fake out revealed in the finale, some Legacies fans wonder what Hope and Landon’s relationship will look like when the real Landon returns. A few think that with all that the two have been through, their romance might not be able to recover.
“I don’t expect things to go back to normal when they reunite again, one Reddit user shared. “At least I hope they don’t fall back into the same pattern. It’d be predictable – too predictable.”
But Handon shippers are still holding on to Hope. One fan thinks they’ll get back together but in a more mature, less codependent way.
“The main reason why she’s so obsessed with him is because she has gone through so much loss, and Landon doesn’t make her feel lonely anymore,” another Redditor wrote. “But as she works together with her friends, she’ll learn that she was never alone, to begin with, and grow more independent. Maybe she’ll be with Landon again when it’s over and done with, but at least she won’t be so reliant on him for happiness and learn to be happy with her friends and family.”
Season 4 of Legacies will premiere on Oct. 14 on The CW.
