Leonardo DiCaprio Has 1 Co-Star He Likely Wouldn’t Work With Again
Leonardo DiCaprio has been in the industry for more than 30 years. Though his career skyrocketed after his role as Jack Dawson in the 1997 film “Titanic,” DiCaprio actually started landing movie roles in the early 1990s.
Over the course of three decades, DiCaprio has hardly had any off-screen feuds with co-stars. But there is one actress that DiCaprio likely wouldn’t work with again.
Leonardo DiCaprio has worked alongside many famous actors
Since DiCaprio stepped onto the acting scene, he’s worked with plenty of big-name co-stars. He and former co-star Kate Winslet partnered up for “Titanic” more than 20 years ago, and the duo still remains close today, having developed a lifelong friendship while filming. He worked alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Elliot Page, and Tom Hardy in the 2010 film “Inception.” That same year, DiCaprio starred in “Shutter Island” alongside Mark Ruffalo and Michelle Williams.
DiCaprio also worked alongside Margot Robbie in 2013’s “The Wolf of Wall Street,” which proved to be Robbie’s breakout role. DiCaprio and Robbie have only had good things to say about each other, and he remembers the moment she threw water in Jordan Belfort’s face to be the moment he knew she going to be a star. Though DiCaprio generally has strong relationships with his co-stars, his younger self didn’t quite hit it off with one other co-star in the 1990s.
DiCaprio and Claire Danes reportedly did not get along on set
In 1996, DiCaprio appeared alongside Claire Danes in a film adaptation of “Romeo + Juliet.” DiCaprio and Danes were both quite young at the time; DiCaprio was 22 during filming, while Danes was only 17. And it turns out the on-screen chemistry that viewers loved didn’t exactly translate to an off-screen friendship.
DiCaprio and Danes reportedly didn’t get along on set. According to Marie Claire, DiCaprio often played jokes on cast members and producers while filming, which Danes found annoying and immature. DiCaprio reportedly didn’t take well to her distaste and found her to be too “uptight.” Still, the two were young, so it’s unclear if they still hold something against each other. But we don’t expect to see DiCaprio and Danes working together any time soon.
DiCaprio has various movies in the works
DiCaprio’s list of films is only growing. He started acting back in the early 1990s, and his first major role came about with “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape” back in 1993. Since then, DiCaprio has starred in various award-winning films, and he won his first Oscar in 2016 for “The Revenant.” But the celebrity isn’t slowing down.
According to IMDB, DiCaprio has various films in the works for 2021 and beyond. He is currently filming “Don’t Look Up,” a political satire film featuring other stars such as Jennifer Lawrence and Cate Blanchett. Dicaprio has also signed on to film “Killers of the Flower Moon,” which will reportedly be released this year. Most recently, DiCaprio has been cast in “Roosevelt,” a biopic about the late Teddy Roosevelt, directed by Martin Scorcese. DiCaprio will portray the former president.
