Liam Hemsworth Made No Public Mention of Miley Cyrus as 2019 Wrapped Up
It’s hard to believe 2020 is already here — and celebrities are taking to social media to share the beginning of the decade compared to how it ended. While 10 years is a lot of time for life to change, Miley Cyrus certainly had a wild last decade. From her craziest moments on stage to the downfall of her relationship with Liam Hemsworth, there’s no doubt she’s garnered a ton of attention over time.
Now, Cyrus is showing how her life has changed since 2010, and she included Hemsworth in her year-end wrap-up. However, despite the video, it seems Hemsworth hasn’t mentioned Cyrus at all as he charges forth into the new decade.
Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have completely gone their separate ways since their split
It’s hard to believe we’re still talking about Cyrus and Hemsworth a decade after they first met. Sparks flew when the duo met each other on the set of The Last Song in 2009, and their relationship seemed shaky from the start. While they were on-again and off-again multiple times, it seemed they finally were fully committed to each other when they tied the knot in December 2018.
Unfortunately, by the summer of 2019, rumors circulated that Hemsworth and Cyrus were no more. Cyrus was caught getting cozy with Kaitlynn Carter, which sparked rumors of a cheating scandal. In the end, it seems Cyrus and Hemsworth just quietly broke things off, and Cyrus immediately started up a new romance.
Now, Cyrus and Australian singer/songwriter Cody Simpson appear to be madly in love. And Hemsworth has been spotted with a few new love interests, too. While fans may hope for Hemsworth and Cyrus to get back together, it’s doubtful it’ll ever happen.
Cyrus featured Hemsworth in her 2019 highlight video
Cyrus made it known she thinks she and Simpson are a way better match than she and Hemsworth. But since Hemsworth was still such a pivotal part of her last decade, she featured him in her 2019 highlight video.
Cosmopolitan reports Cyrus shared an IGTV video of the moments that most defined her last decade. She included clips from The Last Song, which, of course, is when she and Hemsworth first met. Cyrus then added in footage of her 2012 engagement, news about their possible 2013 breakup, and a photo from her wedding followed by a report of them splitting up for good.
Despite some of the controversial content on her video, it seems her Instagram followers are loving the candidness. “You are one of my truly inspiration since day one on Disney Channel, I known that you will be the real artist that you are right now. Cant be tamed,” one of her followers commented.
Hemsworth made no mention of Cyrus when 2019 ended
Hemsworth didn’t appear to make any sort of round-up to show off how his last decade went. Instead, he posted some photos of him surfing with his brothers to Instagram. “Wow what an epic day this was. Great way to wrap up the year! Thanks @urbnsurf I’ll be back real soon ;),” he captioned the post.
Hemsworth has never been one to get overly-personal on Instagram, though he does still have a few posts that feature Cyrus from the past year. We’re not expecting anything more from him regarding the wild events of 2019, however. According to TMZ, he and Cyrus just finalized their divorce on Christmas Eve, so it’s possible it’s still a sore subject for him to publicly mention. And while the separation was reportedly “marked by significant bitterness on both sides,” the exes are looking to move forward amicably.
Hemsworth might be tight-lipped about his last 10 years with Cyrus, but Cyrus has never been one to remain too quiet about her personal life. We’re sure there’s plenty more content from her and Simpson to come in 2020.
