Liam Payne and his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, were in Argentina together before Payne’s death. Cassidy left Argentina before Payne. He died after falling from the balcony of his room at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires after her departure.
Argentinian journalist Mercedes Ninci revealed that Payne was with two sex workers, Aldana Milagros Serrano, 31, and Lucila Marianela Goitea, 27, before his fatal fall. Serrano and Goitea told authorities that Payne sought them out via an escort website. They were drinking alcohol with Payne at 11:30 a.m. before they got into an argument with him regarding their payment. The two women left the hotel an hour before his death and insisted they did not do any drugs with him.
“They left prior to 4 p.m. from Payne’s room [and] left the actual hotel around that time because there was a problem, as Payne did not want to pay them,” an official told La Nacion.
Payne’s girlfriend allegedly didn’t know anything about Payne and the sex workers. “She knew nothing about that,” a source close to Cassidy revealed, according to OK! Magazine. “She just said she has to wrap her mind around it.” They added that it’s “obviously a huge betrayal” and “hurts a lot.”
“She hasn’t stopped crying,” the friend continued, noting that she’s “not OK.” “She’s devastated. She’s got a good support system around her, but this just went from bad to worse.”

American tourist Michael Fleischmann allegedly witnessed an argument over money between Liam Payne and a Spanish-speaking woman at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel.
“I’ll give you $20,000 just because I can,” Fleischmann told the Buenos Aires Herald that Payne said to the woman. “I have $55 million and I like to help people.” Payne “seemed very upset, agitated, a little wild, walking around and pacing.” Given these clues, it’s likely that Payne was talking to one of the sex workers.
“We don’t know what they were doing before that, but she looked very uncomfortable and he kept repeating that information,” the hotel guest continued.
Michael Fleischmann’s mother, Toni Fleischmann, was with her son. “It just looked like she was extremely uncomfortable with him and a little apprehensive,” she said. “It was just my son, me, Liam Payne, the woman, and the staff. The manager was trying to politely intervene or calm him down. There was a feeling of anxiety in the area.”
Kate Cassidy posted a TikTok about leaving Argentina before her boyfriend’s death
Kate Cassidy is an influence and posted on TikTok about her journey home from Argentina without Liam Payne. The TikTok showed her packing her bags and prepping to jet set back to Florida.
“I was so ready to leave, honestly,” she says in the TikTok. “Love South America, but I hate staying in one place for too long. We were supposed to be there for five days, and it turned into two weeks. And I was just like, ‘I need to go home.’”
She landed back in Miami at 6 a.m. and explained how happy she was to get back to her normal life. “I was so happy to be home,” she said in the clip. “It was just so relieving.”
