‘Life Is Strange: True Colors’ follows Alex Chen, a teen with empathetic abilities

The Life is Strange anthology series follows characters with unexplained supernatural abilities that can change the world and people around them, such as time-bending and telekinesis. The single-player adventures rely on dozens of player decisions to determine a game’s outcome, making for several different possibilities. However, these decisions will also affect the characters’ relationships and moral codes, so players should choose wisely.

In Life is Strange: True Colors, players meet 21-year-old Alex Chen, a former foster child. Alex has empathetic powers, which means she can feel and even manipulate the feelings of those around her. She’s dealt with her power for many years, but she hopes to lead a normal life when she moves to Colorado.

However, Alex’s plan quickly changes when her brother, Gabe, dies in a mysterious accident. She must channel her empathetic energy to find out the truth about what happened to Gabe, influencing her relationships with the townspeople along the way.

“As Alex wanders the town, players will get to experience the full gamut of what this empathy power means for her on a daily basis,” True Colors writer Felice Kuan told PCGamesN. “There was a lot of thought and discussion in the writers’ room about whether this heightened empathy would make a person kinder or more bitter overall because there are so many scenarios that could drive someone toward one or the other.”

Will ‘Life Is Strange: True Colors’ be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch?

All three editions of Life is Strange: True Colors are now available for pre-order in the Microsoft Store. However, the game won’t arrive on Xbox Game Pass at launch on Sept 10. At this time, it’s not clear if Xbox will include Life is Strange: True Colors on Game Pass at a later date.

True Colors might not be available on Xbox Game Pass, but interested fans can still find the game in plenty of other places. Digital versions of the game have appeared for purchase in the Microsoft Store, the PlayStation Store, Google Stadia, and Steam.

Additionally, retailers like GameStop, Target, Amazon, and more have digital and physical copies. A Nintendo Switch version of Life is Strange: True Colors will also arrive later in 2021.

There may be hope for Xbox Game Pass subscribers in the future. Life is Strange 1 and 2 arrived on the service in 2019, where they remained until 2020. Xbox Game Pass might follow the same pattern with Life is Strange: True Colors after the initial sales period. Plus, there’s always a chance the other titles could return, but nothing is set in stone yet.
