Lily Collins’ Paris Chic Makeup Routine Doesn’t Explain Her Incredible Brows
Lily Collins has been making headlines since she was just a toddler, but her star has never been bigger than it currently is, thanks to the Netflix series Emily in Paris. However, aside from her acting career, many have obsessed over the actress for her beauty regimen. After Collins posted a video of her beauty routine, many had questions about keeping her iconic eyebrows looking good after the video never addressed it.
Lily Collins recently starred in ‘Emily in Paris’
Collins has been a working actress for most of her 31 years on earth. However, the Netflix smash Emily in Paris might be her most iconic role to date. Collins plays a Midwestern woman who is sent to Paris for work. The culture shock and ensuing love for the city have made it a hit with American audiences, although the French critics are not as forgiving.
Many see the chaotic show as an American’s false idea of what France is. However, what gets the people talking is the show’s fashion. Collins’ Emily gets to show off many iconic outfits that people are falling head-over-heels for. From hats to dresses, the show’s style is enough to make anyone interested in the industry swoon.
This has crossed over to the real world, where people are interested in what Collins does to keep herself beautiful. She recently opened up to Vogue about how she keeps herself in check, although some may be bothered by one omission.
Lily Collins shares her beauty regimen
Collins gave a rundown of several of her favorite products in an October video for Vogue. From face cleansers to her favorite hair and makeup products, Collins gave fans more than they ever needed as she went through her collection and showed fans how she gets her iconic look. The list is long and mostly all-encompassing:
She starts with Beekeeper’s Naturals Propolis Throat Spray, Saje Peppermint Halo, handheld face scrubber, Thayer’s Witch Hazel Toner, Lancôme Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate, jade roller, Herbivore Botanicals Rose Hibiscus Hydrating Face Mist, Handmade Heroes Cocolicious Luscious Lip Scrub in coconut sorbet, Burt’s Bees Lip Balm in original, Lancome UV Expert Aquagel, Lancome Teint Idole Foundation, and Lancome Absolue Powder.
However, that was only a start. She also uses Lancome Blush Subtil, Lancome Le Monochromatique Eyeshadow and Highlighter, Lancome GRANDIÔSE Bendable Liquid Eyeliner, Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara, Lancome, L’Absolu Rouge Drama Matte Lipstick, Lancome Juicy Tubes, DryBar Detox Dry Shampoo, Corpus Natural Deoderant, Weleda Skin Food. She caps it off with Lancome La Vie Est Belle.
What the video doesn’t show us is what she does to achieve her rich and vibrant eyebrows. To find that out, one has to look elsewhere to clue what she does to make them so radiant.
The makeup artist chimes in
Aurelie Payen, the makeup artist on Emily in Paris, spoke to Town and Country about letting the star’s iconic eyebrows pop on camera,
“Lily’s eyebrows are prominent and unique,” Payen said. “It’s her signature feature… Every day I used eyebrow gel from Anastasia Beverly Hills, which helped me fix Lily’s brows all day long. Then I used a concealer from Laura Mercier lighter than her natural skin tone to highlight the shape.”
However, while Collins has full eyebrows, Payen also gave some advice to those who might not be as blessed above their eyes.
“The eyebrows play an important role in the harmony of the face. If they are well-plucked according to the shape of your eyes, they can enlarge your gaze,” Payen told the magazine. “I would use a tinted brow gel, for example, the legendary brows in Super Model Brow by Charlotte Tilbury, to recreate [Lily’s look]. Using this gel, I redefine the eyebrow hair by hair for a more natural finish.
However, for those who do not have a Hollywood makeup crew around them, Collins spoke to Glamour about her favorite product. According to Collins, she uses Lancome Hypnose Mascara and Brow Boy brow gel to get the look she wants away from sets.
Collins has many perks that come with her job, but she’s open about the things she does to be ready for everything from a night out to a red carpet appearance. For those who want to recreate it, however, they might need to do a little digging.
