Lindsay Lohan’s History With Miley Cyrus’ Boyfriend, Cody Simpson, May Be Why She’s Making Comments to Liam Hemsworth
Celebrities are often more interconnected than we think — and this is especially true when they start dating each other. In 2019, all eyes were on Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus during their split. While the couple was together for a decade and married at the end of 2018, they called the whole thing off by the summer of 2019. And now, Cyrus has moved on completely with singer/songwriter Cody Simpson.
Simpson and Cyrus appear to be totally in love, but not everyone’s a fan of Simpson. Lindsay Lohan has her own history with the singer. And she was recently caught commenting on Hemsworth’s Instagram, which had Hemsworth, Cyrus, and Simpson followers scratching their heads.
Lindsay has her own reasons for reaching out to Hemsworth. And since her sister had a past romance with Simpson, she might be attempting to stir the pot by getting in touch with Cyrus’ ex. Here’s what we know.
Lindsay Lohan was caught commenting on Liam Hemsworth’s Instagram
Celebrities often show off their lives publicly on Instagram to their millions of followers. When it comes to Cyrus, she frequently posts photos of herself and Simpson to the ‘gram to show off her new and loving relationship. As for Hemsworth, his isn’t as flashy. While he has a few lingering shots of him and Cyrus together, he mostly posts photos of himself surfing or with his dog.
Hemsworth gets many comments, of course, but few attracted as much attention as Lindsay Lohan’s. MSN notes Lindsay commented with a prayer emoji to a series of photos showing Hemsworth surfing.
Many assumed this was Lindsay’s attempt at flirting, but she said that’s not the case. “[Hemsworth] surfs a lot and I work with the WOW Foundation, for Waves of Wellness [a surf therapy organization], in Australia. So that’s a very important thing for us,” Lindsay clarified to Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper on CNN’s Times Square New Year’s Eve. “And so I’m working with them a lot and bringing people with energy together and he surfs and then people took that the wrong way. We always have gossip in our life, you know that.”
Cody Simpson used to date Lindsay’s sister, Ali Lohan
Perhaps Lindsay wasn’t flirting with Hemsworth after all. But she does seem to be closer to his drama with Cyrus than one would expect. Ali Lohan briefly dated Cody Simpson back in August 2018, according to Distractify. But their relationship wasn’t a good one.
The publication notes Simpson chose to live in Venice Beach, California, while he was dating Ali. As for his living situation, he chose to live in a shack with no bed, which appeared to displease Ali. Ali took to complaining to Lindsay about the shoddy living situation, and Lindsay then claimed she bought furniture for Simpson’s home so Ali would be more comfortable.
According to People, the furniture never showed, though. Simpson told Australian outlet Punkee that “it never ended up coming and we didn’t know where it went.”
Lindsay might just be stirring the pot since she doesn’t like Simpson
Simpson told Punkee that he and Lindsay are on fine terms, but we’re not so sure. People notes when Simpson won The Masked Singer in October 2019, Lindsay posted a photo of Ali and Simpson with a scathing caption. “When you realise you failed. And you settle for less @codysimpson. Family is everything you won the masked singer but you lost on your future,” Lindsay wrote. The post has since been deleted.
So, is Lindsay still angry with the way things went down between Ali and Simpson? And is she stirring the pot purposely by reaching out to Hemsworth post-divorce from Cyrus? We’re not sure what Lindsays’ motives really are, but it certainly has our attention as we enter 2020. We’ll have to wait and see if anything happens next in this complicated relationship triangle!
