Lip Reader Reveals What Kate Middleton Said After Crowd Gave Her a Standing Ovation Amid Cancer Battle
After the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton) announced her cancer diagnosis in March and revealed that she’s receiving preventive chemotherapy, no one was sure when she would return to royal duties. Then in June, the princess posted on social media an update on her health and stated that she would attend the Trooping the Colour to celebrate her father-in-law King Charles’ birthday.
“I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days,” Kate shared via Instagram. “On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well. My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months … I’m looking forward to attending the king’s birthday parade.”
The princess added that while she knows she’s “not out of the woods yet,” she hopes to attend more public events over the summer. Her second appearance came on July 14, when she attended the Wimbledon Men’s Final with her daughter, Princess Charlotte, and her sister, Pippa Middleton. The Princess of Wales received a warm reception upon her arrival and now a professional lip reader is revealing what Kate said as the crowd cheered.
Lip-reading expert shares the 2 words Kate used to describe the standing ovation
Upon her arrival to see the match between Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz and Serbia’s Novak Djokovic, Kate was given a standing ovation. She smiled brightly and was seen mouthing a couple of words in response to that reception.
Lip reader Jeremy Freeman analyzed what the Princess of Wales said when she first took her seat and the comment she made about the ovation she got.
Freeman told The Sun that Kate asked Charlotte to “come over here” as they got to their seats in the Royal Box. She then thanked the person who had accompanied them and proceeded to wave to the crowd and at that time everyone was up on their feet applauding.
According to Freeman, Kate said “hi” to the spectators before turning to the lady next to her and saying that the ovation was “so sweet.”
What the princess said about being able to attend the event this year
For their girls’ day out, Kate, Pippa, and Charlotte looked very stylish.
Kate donned a purple Safiyaa dress with gold jewelry and a cream handbag. Her sibling sported a caped Beulah midi dress with a ribbon tied at the waist. It’s the same dress Pippa wore to their brother James Middleton’s wedding. She accessorized with a suede envelope clutch, while her niece wore a navy blue polka-dot Guess dress with ballet flats and sported a blue bow in her hair.
As a photo circulated of them enjoying the match, a post on the princess’s Instagram account read: “Great to be back at Wimbledon! There’s nothing quite like The Championships.”
