Then, on Sept. 9, the princess shared the news that delighted fans all over the world when she announced that she had completed her chemotherapy and was going “to do all she can” to remain “cancer-free.”

Kate released an emotional video about her journey and what she has learned following her diagnosis. The video also featured candid moments with Prince William, their three children, and Kate’s mother and father. The princess’s voice played over the clips but now a few lip readers have decoded what the family was saying to each other in some of those shots.

Here’s more on the video and what lip-reading experts noticed Kate saying to William and her parents.

Kate’s touching video with her family

In the just over three-minute video posted on Kensington Palace’s social media accounts the Princess of Wales said: “I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment. The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.

“The cancer journey is complex, scary, and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you. With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything. This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved.”

Kate added that she is focused on staying “cancer-free” and acknowledged that her “path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes.” She concluded with the quote: “Out of darkness, can come light, so let that light shine bright.”

The footage incorporated in the video rolled like a home movie, giving a behind-the-scenes look into the lives of Britain’s famous family. Several clips showed Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis playing together as well as some sweet moments between William and Kate.

At one point in the video, the pair are on a beach looking toward the sea. Lipreaders at 121 Captions decoded what the princess said to her husband telling Fabulous that Kate commented: “It’s perfect for a swim!” And later, appears to have exclaimed to her children: “It’s time to blow some bubbles.” According to the lip-reading pros, the Princess of Wales also mentioned the word “pirates” while playing a card game with her little ones and her parents.

Royal commentator Victoria Arbiter opined that the date the Waleses chose to post the video was significant as it was 10 years to the day that they announced they were expecting their second child together.
