Lisa Marie Presley’s Secret Message Hidden Inside a Graceland Drawer
For nine years of her life, Lisa Marie Presley lived at Graceland. She resided there full-time with Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley and, after the couple divorced, part-time. Lisa left her mark on the home, leaving a secret message hidden inside a drawer at the Memphis estate.
It is all about the hidden message Lisa Marie Presley left in Graceland’s drawer
Lisa Marie Presley was a precocious little girl. Therefore, she liked to pull pranks, such as placing a secret message in a Graceland drawer.
Angie Marchese, Graceland’s archivist, told Express.com.au that Lisa left a secret message in a drawer in a small corridor between the kitchen and the infamous Jungle Room. Here are the details.
During a live virtual tour of the Memphis mansion, Marchese showed viewers a drawer in a corridor next to the kitchen, which leads to the Jungle Room.
When opened, viewers could see a message written by Lisa Marie Presley. She penned, “Lisa’s home Graceland,” with a smiley face. The drawer is located right near where fans walk by on the tour.
Lisa Marie said she ‘had the run of Graceland’
In a 2013 interview for The Talk, Lisa Marie admitted Elvis was not a “strict dad.” His parenting style differed significantly from her mother, Priscilla, who split from Elvis in 1973.
Lisa Marie said, “He was not strict at all. I was truthfully a terror, to be honest. My mom was completely the opposite. She was really strict. So, it was very confusing when I had to go back and forth between the two.”
She added, “He would sleep all day, so me and my friends had the run of Graceland. And I knew no one would tell me what to do ’cause they would get fired.”
What remains the same at Elvis Presley’s historic home?
Much of Elvis Presley’s historic Graceland home remains the same. Some of the mid-1970s furnishings have been swapped out for a look that is more in tune with how the home was for years while Elvis and his parents, Vernon and Gladys, and later, Priscilla, lived there.
The Jungle Room, TV Room, Billiards Room, and Kitchen remain the same. The racquetball court was restored to how it looked on Elvis’ last evening in August 1977.
Vernon’s office remains unchanged, and Vernon and Glady’s room was refurbished to look like it did when they lived there in the mid-1950s.
Subsequently, the upstairs areas of the home have been left exactly the same as they were the night Elvis died. Elvis’ bedroom, bathroom, and office are upstairs at Graceland. Lisa Marie’s room and play area are also in the exact location.
The rooms are treated as a shrine to the King of Rock and Roll. Items are exactly as he left them the day he died, right down to the record on the record player and a Styrofoam cup in the bathroom.
Lisa Marie Presley was the executor of Graceland until she died in 2023. After that, her daughter, Riley Keough, took control of the estate.
