‘Loki’ Episode 2 Could Explain ‘WandaVision’ Post-Credits Scene
The WandaVision finale featured a post-credits scene that still has fans scratching their heads. But an episode of Loki could have a possible connection to it that would explain it all. Loki creator Michael Waldron did say the series would have a “wide-reaching” impact on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And this theory about Loki Nexus events would certainly fit that narrative.

What is a Nexus event in ‘Loki’?
The Tom Hiddleston series is already a fan favorite. It has introduced exciting new characters like Sylvie, Agent Mobius, and Ravonna Renslayer into the MCU. And it has also introduced Nexus events. Loki learns about Nexus events through the Time Variance Authority (TVA). Simply put, it’s an event so unexpected, it causes a new branch to form on the “Sacred Timeline.” This means it creates a new reality. The TVA’s sole purpose is to eliminate (“prune”) variants who cause these Nexus events. They erase the branch timeline in order to preserve the Sacred Timeline established by the elusive Time-Keepers.
Sylvie is the TVA’s most notorious variant, and she’s a Loki. Although, she hates being called that, hence her going by Sylvie. Loki Episode 4 revealed Sylvie grew up on Asgard and was arrested by Ravonna and the TVA when she was a child. But she escaped before being pruned. She spent the rest of her life on the run, hiding throughout apocalypses on different planets.
In episode 2, Sylvie bombed the Sacred Timeline by setting off a group of reset charges all at once. Reset charges are the tools the TVA uses to erase a branch timeline after its been created. The variant that caused it is apprehended and put on trial before being pruned. Using stolen TemPads, Sylvie sent each reset charge to a different point on the timeline. This caused countless branch timelines to form, rather than be erased. So clearly, the reset charges can serve other purposes. And the chaos of this collective Nexus event was too much for the TVA to reign in.
What does the end scene of ‘WandaVision’ mean?
This is where the WandaVision post-credits scene comes in. The finale had two scenes in the credits. The second showed Wanda on the porch of a remote mountain cottage. But it also shows the astral projected form of Scarlet Witch learning from the Darkhold. In the final seconds, Wanda hears her sons yelling for her help. Billy, Tommy, and Vision had been erased by Wanda earlier in the episode, so to hear the twins’ voices is a shock.
Fans already know WandaVision and Loki will lead directly into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Spider-Man: No Way Home will also be connected to these stories. It’s possible Sylvie’s bombing of the Sacred Timeline is what opened up the multiverse. And the moment Wanda hears her sons’ screams is the moment the multiverse was created.
The multiverse, as the Doctor Strange sequel title suggests, will descend into madness at some point. Repairing the chaos will possibly be the task Doctor Strange embarks on in the sequel. Loki and Sylvie could be part of this as well, given their knowledge of the TVA and how branched timelines work.
Are ‘WandaVision’ and ‘Loki’ connected?
Fans on Reddit think Loki will end with the destruction of the TVA, which would allow the multiverse to continue expanding. Some fans on this thread think Wanda will search for her sons in the multiverse and cause a massive Nexus event that will plunge it into madness.
Another user noted Wanda is a Nexus Being in the comics. This means she is the same version of herself in every reality she enters. This is different from Loki and Sylvie, who are different versions of themselves. Users on a separate Reddit thread think Wanda will search for her sons in the multiverse, but it won’t cause the damage to it. Rather than cause the multiverse madness, fans on this thread think Wanda will fix it.
“Yeah tbh after watching the two episodes of Loki (no spoilers) I’m inclined to think that Wanda may actually be the one to repair the multiverse at the conclusion of this story arc, rather than be the one to tear it all down,” one user said.
The multiverse descending into madness could be caused by a variety of bad actors yet to be revealed. Wanda ended WandaVision accepting her powers, healing from her trauma, and in the pursuit of knowledge. She seems poised to be a hero rather than a villain. Sylvie also said, “The universe wants to break free, so it manifests chaos.” It seems as if the multiverse existing is not the inherent evil. Rather, it’s those who would attempt to dominate it that all should fear. Only time will tell.
