‘Loki’ Episode 4: So What Happened to Agent Mobius?
Ravonna Renslayer made a shocking move in Loki episode 4 when she betrayed her long-time TVA colleague and friend. In a short time, he’s become a beloved part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So, naturally, fans want to know what happened to Agent Mobius M. Mobius and whether he’ll return.

‘Loki’ episode 4 featured a surprising twist
In the June 30 episode, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) manage to make it out of Lamentis-1 just before it’s destroyed. They are swooped up by the Time Variance Authority and taken in for interrogation.
As Agent Mobius (Owen Wilson) grills Loki about Sylvie and his feelings for her, the God of Mischief drops the bombshell about the TVA agents being variants themselves. Mobius doesn’t fully believe it at first, but when he gets vague answers from Renslayer, he begins to think it might be true.
Mobius switches his Tempad with Renslayer’s and discovers Hunter C-20 (Sasha Lane) remembered her past life and that his friend Renslayer lied to him about it. He saves Loki from his memory prison and heads out with a plan to bring down the TVA.
But just before the two can get far, Renslayer confronts Mobius about the TemPad. And when he tells her he knows about being a variant and wants to go back to life on a jet-ski, she orders a guard to prune him. Mobius disappears and isn’t seen for the rest of the episode.
So what happened to Agent Mobius?
Loki hasn’t yet revealed what happens to a person when they’re pruned. But the post-credits scene may provide a hint.
Renslayer manages to prune Loki too. But in the brief scene after the credits, he wakes up in a mysterious place and encounters people who may be other Loki variants.
If they are Loki variants that the TVA has pruned, it would suggest all pruned variants end up together in the same place. And if that’s the case, Mobius may be somewhere his other potential variants might be (if he has any).
His return isn’t confirmed. But Mobius is such a compelling character that it would be hard to imagine Marvel wouldn’t bring him back in the next episodes.
‘Loki’ fans aren’t ready to say goodbye to Agent Mobius
Agent Mobius may have been pruned, but Loki fans aren’t quite ready to say goodbye. Many want to see him return in the next episode. And a few are counting on seeing him on his beloved jet-ski at some point before the finale.
“If this series doesn’t end with Mobius on a jet ski in some capacity, I’m going to revolt,” one Reddit user wrote. “Especially after episode 4.”
“If this series doesn’t end with Mobius on a jet ski, I am canceling my Disney+,” another Redditor added.
Whether or not Mobius returns remains to be seen. But with only two episodes left, fans should know soon enough. New episodes of Loki air Wednesdays on Disney+.
