Loki is just four episodes in, but it’s already setting up a memorable entrance into the MCU’s future, both big and small.

The villain-turned-occasional-anti-hero has always been a tough egg to crack. One moment he’s terrorizing New York City with a fleet of alien warships, the next, he’s fighting alongside his brother. Loki shows what it is like when Thor is not around, although some fans on Reddit have a theory about how he’ll get back into the fold of his brother’s life.

Loki and the Infinity Stones

Starting with the Tesseract, Inverse notes how Loki’s journey, the Infinity Stone journey, and the entire Avengers saga up until now have all run together in a distinct web. After all, nearly every villain had an Infinity Stone or benefited from somebody who did. Thus, they aren’t just power over others but also over time, souls, and life itself. Perhaps, this also explains Loki’s forever gray morality.

Loki has wielded some stone power, but he also saw the dangers of what happens when someone who has a goal beyond inherent chaos gets the stones and affects not just the world of Asgard but all of known existence. As a result, Loki has died and come back to life multiple times, and the new series shows what happens when he starts to experience introspection for the first time.

Early on in the series, he learns that infinity Stones have no power in the world of the TVA. In fact, they are paperweights and trinkets to many of the employees inside. However, it doesn’t mean that Loki cannot use the stones away from the TVA, and some fans on Reddit believe that this is on the verge of happening.

Loki has a plan

We know that Loki saw the stones, and it’s also likely that he pilfered one for later use. After all, the entire series hinges on the fact that he stole one and disappeared in Endgame. Reddit user u/kalashnikov_go_brr posits that Loki swiped one of the stones and will use it in the latter part of the series. According to them, Loki could use the stones to save his new friend, Sylvie.

“Loki, being the God of mischief that he is, has stolen one of the stones from the office clerk.” they write. “At this moment, when a plant is at the verge of collapse, this is when he uses the time/space stone with Sylvia [sic] and escapes.”

Another user, u/issa09876, believes that Loki is downplaying his powers for an unseen endgame. After all, even if the TVA stifles him, he’s still a god.

“Loki possesses strength, durability, and longevity far superior to humans,” they wrote. “The most powerful sorcerer in all of Asgard, Loki’s magical abilities include astral projection, shape-shifting, hypnosis, molecular rearrangement, energy blasts, levitating, conjuration, cryokinesis, telekinesis, and teleportation. In addition, Loki can connect to others telepathically and see into their memories, mystically imbue objects, and create rifts between dimensions.”

Loki is seemingly prepared to help open up the multiverse that has now been teased since Spider-Man: Far From Home, and a time stone could help him save the Variant and his future in one fell swoop.

Loki premieres on Disney Plus every Wednesday at midnight. Thus far, we have seen him infiltrate the TVA and play a game of interdimensional chess in the process. The details are still unwinding, but Loki is due for several more twists when all is said and done. Whether this involves a Times Stone or other stones remain to be seen. However, the show has already flipped the Marvel world on its side, and whatever Loki does from here, it’s sure to be a memorable conclusion to the well-received series.
