Loni Love Speaks On Claims She Got Tamar Braxton Fired Fired From ‘The Real’ After Former Friend Says She Played A Part

Tamar Braxton has made it known that she believes her former co-hosts of The Real were well aware that she was in danger of being let go from the show – specifically Loni Love. Love has denied any involvement but things blew up again this year after a former friend of Love’s detailed shocking claims of Love’s part in the ordeal. Love recently spoke on the allegations and promised to put them to rest once and for all in her new book. 

Loni Love says Tamar Braxton’s ex-husband influenced her belief that she had Braxton fired

Love has repeatedly denied that she had anything to do with Braxton’s firing. Immediately after news broke, Love took to YouTube in a six-minute video to deny that she nor the other hosts were aware of any issues between Braxton or production. She also noted that all five hosts, including Braxton, had just completed promotional photoshoots from the third season of the show and they were all shocked to discover Braxton wasn’t asked to return. 

In a 2018 interview with The Breakfast Club, Love attributed Braxton’s belief that she was behind her firing to Braxton’s ex-husband, Vincent Herbert. According to Love, Braxton confided in her that she wanted to drop Herbert as her manager and Love recommended another talent manager that she believed would help Braxton. 

“Something happened and he [Herbert] knows what happened. He’s trying to save face, I believe, because he knows something had happened, either some deal that messed up, I don’t know,” said Love. “It wasn’t like they had a meeting, we tip toed to the office, we don’t have that type of power. We got no power.”

Cookie Hull claims Loni Love contributed to Tamar Braxton’s firing from ‘The Real’

Though Love hinted to Herbert being knowing of Braxton’s firing, Love’s former friend and writer – Cookie Hull – claims otherwise. Hull is also a standup comedian and interviewed with YouTube’s Comedy Hype, alleging that Love indeed played a part in Braxton’s firing. 

“She told me that she was going to try to get her off of the show,” Hull said. “She told me that she wanted to be the only ghetto girl on the show and she wanted to get rid of her.” 

Hull says she saw proof of Love’s scheme to have Braxton removed from the show when Love allegedly showed Hull emails Love sent to the network regarding Braxton’s multiple absences from the show. According to Hull, the emails pointed to the show’s consistent ratings without Braxton on the panel. Love also allegedly mentioned that Braxton was an insurance liability in the email – due to her health issues she was experiencing at the time.

Hull says she informed a mutual friend of her’s and Braxtons to relay the message. Braxton later posted screenshots of the text conversation between her and Hull’s friend that detailed the conversation with Hull about Love emailing the network after Love’s appearance on The Breakfast Club.

Love made a subtle reference to Hull’s interview on a recent segment of The Real in which the hosts discussed former friends they’ve helped financially.

“Somebody is coming after me because I used to take care of them. I put money in their pocket, Katt Williams put money in their pocket and now they’re lying,” she said. “They’re lying on me, they’re making up stories but it happens to everybody.” 

Many fans knew she was referring to Hull as they worked together with Katt Williams. Love is expanding on her feelings about Hull’s allegations. In an interview with Madame Noire to promote her new book, Love says that her reputation of positivity and unity speaks for itself. 

Anybody that knows me, knows that I will not describe myself as a ghetto girl. I wouldn’t describe Tamar Braxton as a ghetto girl. I might say that we believe in the power of being ourselves. But ghetto girl?! I would never do that. And also, there’s a lesson in this. When you try to help people, you have to watch who you help. I’ve never been against any Black woman. My fans know that.
