The Lost Miley Cyrus Track Fans Are Begging Her to Release
Don’t worry, Smilers: Miley Cyrus is working on new music for you. But if there’s a certain song you’re waiting to hear about, you may be out of luck. The artist has yet to reveal whether a previously teased track is on her new album. For those who still want to hear “Bad Karma,” here’s what we know.
Miley Cyrus has released six studio albums in total
Cyrus is young, but she’s been in the spotlight for a long time. She got her start on the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana, and portraying the titular singer allowed her to show off her talents right away. And her on-screen persona released her music and became very famous, so did she.
As herself, Cyrus has released six total albums. The first three were through Disney’s Hollywood Records, though only two were separate from Hannah Montana. After 2010’s Can’t Be Tamed, Cyrus signed with RCA Records, where she’s since put out three more albums: Bangerz, Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz, and Younger Now.
What songs did she release in 2019?
A common theme in Cyrus’ career is that she is always working on something new. Bangerz was her raunchy R&B phase album, which quickly gave way to the more rock-sounding Dead Petz, before she shifted to a wholesome country image with Younger Now. And Cyrus revealed years ago that her next album would be an even bigger departure.
But because all of this is happening in conjunction with her personal life, Cyrus has said she sometimes has to adjust her plans. In 2019, fans were prepped for her seventh album with the release of the EP She Is Coming, but she then changed gears, dropping “Slide Away” in the wake of her separation from Liam Hemsworth.
Fans still want Cyrus to drop ‘Bad Karma’
Cyrus has been known to share tidbits of songs with her fans even before making real announcements. On her way to the Met Gala in 2019, a video was posted of the artist singing along to an as-yet-unheard track, seemingly titled “Bad Karma.” Hemsworth can be seen singing along in the background.
Since then, fans haven’t been able to stop asking Cyrus to drop “Bad Karma,” either as a single or as part of an upcoming EP or LP. But Cyrus has been keeping mum about which of her previously recorded tracks will see the light of day.
Why it’s taking so long to get new music
After She Is Coming, the next two EPs set to come out are She Is Here and She Is Everything, all of which should make up the full album She Is Miley Cyrus. But, as previously stated, her circumstances changed. Along with her relationship status, Cyrus had to deal with some health issues over the past several months.
In Oct. 2019, around the time she began dating singer Cody Simpson, Cyrus revealed that she had undergone surgery to remove her tonsils. This was followed up with vocal cord surgery, which prevented her from singing for a couple of months. However, there’s good news…
When will Cyrus drop ‘She Is Miley Cyrus’?
As 2019 came to a close, Cyrus was clearly shown to be off vocal rest. Fans were eager to hear that she was back in the studio. And she soon delivered on this with numerous behind-the-scenes moments in her Instagram Story. So when will the new EP or LP drop?
Right now, there’s no word as to whether Cyrus is sticking with her original plan. Her New Year’s posts seem to indicate that she’s headed into the She Is Here (or I Am Here) era. Whatever the case, it’s obvious that new music is definitely on the way, and soon.
