Remy Ma and Cardi B’s related beef and their tenures in the franchise

Remy Ma and Cardi B have never had beef with each other, but they are connected by two separate feuds. Both rappers have feuded with Nicki Minaj for different reasons.

Cardi B starred with Remy Ma on Love & Hip Hop: New York for seasons six and seven. Cardi left the show after the seventh season and became one of the biggest new artists of the decade. Remy Ma has been a main cast member of the show since season six.

The two rappers have also performed together. Remy Ma brought out Cardi B during Summer Jam 2017.

The track from Remy Ma in a recent ‘Love & Hip Hop’ episode

So what is that has fans riled up? A recent episode of Love & Hip Hop: New York showed Remy Ma in a recording studio while holding her young daughter, Reminisce McKenzie. During the scene, Remy Ma rapped the lines: “They got this saying, integrity comes first. Social media makes it worse. Real mothers don’t twerk, she a nurse. Wash the clothes, make dinner and dessert.

In general, some fans thought that Remy Ma was perpetuating harmful and outdated stereotypes about motherhood. Others, on the other hand, seemed to think that she may have had a more specific target in her former co-star, Cardi B.

Now, this doesn’t seem like it would be a thing since Remy Ma and Cardi B have never had a problem with each other, but that hasn’t stopped folks from speculating.

One fan tweeted, “It was indirect shade towards cardi, and when you add many of the indirect things remy have it applies to cardi. Saying real mothers don’t twerk and cardi twerks all the time is shady, and cardi was the only big celeb who dressed up as a nurse for Halloween, it’s not [a] coincidence.”

“Please yall. Tell me Remy Ma wasn’t shaming mothers who twerk. Pleaaaasssseeee say that what she said was taken out of context. Can someone please send me the beautiful beam footage of what she actually said so I don’t prejudge,” said another person.

Another viewer added, “People are stuck on Remy Ma’s rap line on twerking, are forgetting she ‘tried’ to reduce women to washing clothes and nursing. Do you understand how misogynistic those lines are? That women are capable of so much more. Just wondering, anyone is paying attention to that.”

Did Cardi B respond to the alleged diss?

In a now-deleted tweet, people think that Cardi B may have actually addressed Remy Ma.

She said, “I try so hard not to respond to b****s and they subs that they keep throwing at me. But when you challenge my motherhood is when you got me f****d up you wack a** b****s! Put out a hit record instead of dissin people! Suck my d**k b****h.”

Neither rapper has directly addressed the rumors and the episode. Love & Hip Hop: New York airs Monday nights on VH1.
