‘Love & Hip Hop’: This Star’s Daughter Was Attacked by a Parent at an Atlanta High School
One of the stars of Love & Hip Hop faced a troubling situation outside of the franchise recently. One of the cast members of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta had a child that was attacked at school by a parent.
Sierra Gates on ‘Love & Hip Hop’
Sierra Gates has been a supporting cast member on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta since the show’s sixth season. When she was first introduced, her storyline revolved around finding out that her ex-husband, Shooter Gates, was having an affair with her assistant, Moriah Lee.
By the show’s seventh season, Sierra and Shooter had separated, and she began dating rapper BK Brasco. Her storyline continued to involve Shooter as well as BK, as there were rumors of cheating and potential children. In season seven, she also feuded with Keely Hill, one of Shooter’s longtime friends.
Gates and BK broke up after she said she cheated. She then seemed poised to pursue Scrapp DeLeon, but ended up getting back with BK by the end of the season.
Gates is ‘heartbroken’ by this incident with her daughter
Gates’ 14-year-old daughter was attacked by a classmate and her mother at North Atlanta High School.
The classmate’s mother, Treon F. Ponder, turned herself in and was charged with battery, disrupting public school and contributing to the delinquency of a minor
“The Atlanta Public Schools Police Department is investigating a physical altercation that occurred at North Atlanta High School, allegedly involving two students and the parent of one of the students. The parent was inappropriately provided access to the building by the student,” a school system spokesperson said in an interview with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The school’s police chief, Ron Applin, said: “We’re not going to sit by and allow people to come into our school and do harm to threaten our students. [If] you come into our schools, put your hands on any of our kids, put your hands on any of our faculty staff members, we intend to put you in jail.”
Gates also told the newspaper, “I was heartbroken. I’ve been crying all day. To see that her safety is not assured at school is very scary to me.”
Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta returns later this year on VH1.
