Love Is Blind had multiple rejections in season 2. That includes Natalie Lee saying no to Shayne Jansen at the altar. She talked about what made her realize it wouldn’t work and more.
Natalie rejected Shayne on ‘Love Is Blind’
Shayne had a strong connection with Natalie in the pods. He proposed to her and she accepted, but they went on to have a few awkward moments.
In Mexico, the couple was very playful together. But that sometimes backfired when Shayne genuinely asked Natalie for a compliment and she jokingly responded by insulting him. They had heated discussions after this happened a couple of times.
It still looked like they were going to go through with their wedding until their wedding day. They revealed that they privately had an argument and Shayne said hurtful things like Natalie was the worst thing to ever happen to him. She decided to not get married but told Shayne she’d like for them to work on their relationship. He was hurt and refused to agree to move forward together.
Natalie’s dad helped her realize she couldn’t trust Shayne
Deepti Vempati asked Natalie how hard it was to make the decision to say no on her wedding day on the We Have The Receipts podcast. She admitted going in she knew that’s what she wanted to do, but was still reconsidering that going to the altar.
“I think I talk about it on the show, but it’s the way my dad made me feel that day,” she said. “Just really safe and secure and knowing I could fully trust him, and at that moment I kind of lost those feelings for Shayne, that feeling of full trust. If I don’t feel that way we can’t be married today. That’s how I knew it was the right decision.”
Natalie said she was happy the moment with her dad was captured on the show. She also talked about another man who proposed to her early on and she rejected him. Natalie said she’s glad they didn’t show the moment because it’s a small part of her story.
Shayne and Natalie tried to date after the show
The couple did try to work on their relationship after the show. But Natalie revealed at the reunion that she couldn’t get past their fight so it didn’t work out.
Shayne also put her in the hot seat. “There was also a reason why I got to that point too,” he told her. He accused her of pushing under the rug her part of it. Natalie said she didn’t blame him and “pushed” him to that point.
In the end, it looks like Shayne and Natalie are still single. He also denies dating Shaina Hurley.
