[Warning: This article contains spoilers for Love Is Blind Season 7 Episodes 1-5.]

Not every Love Is Blind romance is right for TV.

Fans of the Netflix reality show know that some couples who connect in the pods aren’t featured in the final episodes. In season 7, Leo Braudy and Brittany Wisniewski were one of those couples who didn’t make the final cut. Although they were heavily featured in the season’s first few episodes, their story abruptly concluded after their awkward face-to-face meeting. So, what happened? And why didn’t Brittany and Leo head to Cabo with the other couples?

Leo, a 30-year-old art dealer who couldn’t stop talking about how rich he was, was torn between two women in the pods: Hannah, 27, a country girl who works in medical device sales, and Brittany, 33, an esthetician with a taste for the good life.

Leo was seriously vibing with Hannah and was pretty upset when she accepted a proposal from Nick, a real estate agent and former football player, But he quickly rebounded, proposing to Brittany. Earlier, the would-be trophy wife had made it clear that she wanted to be “100% taken care of” in a relationship. Meanwhile, he’d expressed concern about women only being into him for his money. But in the end, that didn’t matter, and he decided to ask her to be his wife.

What followed was one of the most uncomfortable reveals in Love Is Blind history.

As soon as Leo saw Brittany, he was immediately smitten.

“You are so f*cking beautiful. Holy sh*t,” he said as he smothered her with kisses. Moments later, he told her he loved her.

Brittany was not nearly as enthusiastic about Leo, as her stiff body language nervous laughter made clear.

“This is definitely one of the most awkward moments of my life,” she said as he attempted to cuddle her on the couch.

In their post-reveal interviews, Brittany and Leo each reflected on their engagement. He couldn’t believe how “hot” his new fiancée was. But she was having some serious second thoughts.

“Oh, God. What have I done?” she said.

Producers could see that Brittany and Leo’s relationship was dead on arrival. After their engagement, an on-screen message explained that they were not one of the six couples chosen to continue their journey on the group honeymoon in Mexico.

While Brittany and Leo’s Love Is Blind story was over, they didn’t break things off immediately after the engagement. They spent a couple of days together in Los Angeles after leaving the pods, then headed to Miami.

”After we left the set, that was such a fun time,” she told EW. “We just rode scooters — we crashed into a cactus, pretty badly actually. I had to see a chiropractor when I got home, but we just had so much fun.”

During their time in Miami, Brittany and Leo talked about their experience in the pods and their fellow castmates. But there was no romantic spark.

“There wasn’t anything major that happened,” Brittany revealed. “Honestly, I sometimes wish there was, because maybe it would give a better explanation to why things didn’t work out. It’s really just, you know when it’s right and you just know when it’s not, and we’re better off as friends.”

Brittany says there’s ‘no bad blood’ between her and Leo

Brittany stressed that there was “no bad blood” between her and Leo. “Something wasn’t there,” she said. “And I can’t explain what it is, but we both felt it and we just had a mutual understanding of it and did our best, but we did ultimately move on.”

She added that she wasn’t shocked that they weren’t invited to go to Mexico with the other season 7 couples. “We were the weakest link … I was not surprised we didn’t move forward in the trip to Mexico, and we did our own thing,” she said.
