‘Love Island’ Host Caroline Flack Had a Secret Romantic Relationship With Prince Harry Before Dating Another Famous Harry
Questions have been swirling since the news that former Love Island host Caroline Flack, 40, was found dead in her London home on Feb. 15. After learning that she took her own life, fans have been trying to find out as much as they can about the late TV presenter.
Flack wasn’t just known for hosting reality TV programs, she also made plenty of headlines for her dating life including her controversial relationship with a British pop star and a fling with Prince Harry. Here’s what Flack revealed about why she and the royal had to end things, plus why her romance with a famous singer raised plenty of eyebrows.
What Flack said about her romance with Prince Harry
In 2009, Flack met the now-Duke of Sussex when he was 25 and she was 29. They were introduced by TV reporter Caroline Pinkham, who also dated the prince, not long after Harry and Zimbabwe-born socialite Chelsy Davy split.
“I knew (Pinkham) was friends with Prince Harry, and I’d never met him, so I thought, ‘Oh that’s quite exciting’, and for a moment I perked up,” Flack wrote in her memoir Storm In A C Cup.
According to Flack, they decided to end things after a short time due to all the media attention.
“To meet a prince is so unlikely, it would be weird not to acknowledge it. However, once the story got out, that was it. We had to stop seeing each other,” she said. “I was no longer Caroline Flack, TV presenter, I was Caroline Flack, Prince Harry’s bit of rough.”
The Harry she dated after the prince
But the prince wasn’t the only famous Harry Flack dated. Her relationship with former One Direction star Harry Styles really raised eyebrows because of their 14-year age gap.
When they started seeing each other in 2011, Flack was 31 and Styles was 17.
The presenter told NME that things began to go wrong when “he [Styles] was pictured coming out of my house one morning. And that was that … people started shouting ‘pedophile’ at me in the street and ‘pervert.'”
When speaking about their age difference, Flack admitted that it was “strange,” but said, “I’m not going to ever apologize for it because there was nothing at the time that was serious or bad and nobody was getting hurt.”
Other celebs Flack was linked to
Some of the other high-profile men Flack was romanticly linked to in the past have included X-Factor winner James Arthur, Strictly Come Dancing professional AJ Pritchard, England rugby player Danny Cipriani, and Styles’ One Direction bandmate Niall Horan.
At the time of her death, Flack was awaiting trial for an alleged assault on her former tennis boyfriend Lewis Burton.
